In your example, if, however, the tire shop does something that results in, say, damage to an axle or a suspension component then you would have the same outcome, the Ford warranty won't cover it, but the tire shop should.Sounds like a BS excuse from the dealer. ......Go to another dealer!
If I use their reasoning then If I buy aftermarket tires, then I void my entire warranty? Nope
BS meter on high![]()
This is how I always assumed warranty claims were handled. I could be 100% wrong so if you are more knowledgeable, please correct me. If I go to dealership "A" and they deny a warranty claim, it is in Ford's system. If I go to dealership "B" and ask them to do the same repair, Ford will already know that the claim has been denied. So unless Dealership "B" can show that the first dealer was wrong, the claim will again be denied. Is this accurate? My wife had a similar issue on her 2016 mustang. Rear window was replaced and the top brake light had a leak. Dealer instantly denied the warranty. She took it to a different Dealer and they replaced it no questions asked. It was actually a faulty brake light. I don't remember full details but going to different Dealer helped.
Not necessarily, Ford corporate could still penalize both dealerships for not honoring the warranty. Despite what we might think, they still care a lot about brand reputation. This is how I always assumed warranty claims were handled. They are saying that a wire rubbed a bracket and was shorting to the body control module. My problem with it is I don’t see any wires that rubbed through. Plus the brackets are plastic so shouldn’t short. I have an appointment next week with service manager and technician to show me exactly which wire is rubbed through. Yes I have a Ford extended warranty through Granger but the factory warranty should have covered it first. I bwill see if they can provide anything. If not I’m inclined to think the sunvisor wire harness that is a recall for shorting wire might be the cause. Same wire harness. It's been ask a couple of times without an answer. So I'll ask again. What the heck does a tail light repair have to do with a wire the overhead console !!??
I talked with Ford corporate and they are 100% worthless. Said they neither approve nor deny any warranty and that I need to get with the dealer. Pretty much telling me they will not help. My next truck probably will not be a Ford. They don’t care to keep customers. Not necessarily, Ford corporate could still penalize both dealerships for not honoring the warranty. If dealership B knows that dealership A is run by clowns, they might choose to do their own investigation before denying.
Lest they lose their allotment for high margin vehicles/trims.
Bringing up the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act helps
Me too!im struggling to make the connection between a rear view mirror and reverse lights.....what kind of wiring rats nest is that??
