It has happened twice now, I get in the truck, CarPlay connects and I can see messages, maps etc. But, I have no volume for any sound source, ITunes or podcasts or phone calls. I turn everything off and still nothing. I can’t even get sound on my iPhone. Only thing that works is to power down my phone and then re-power it. Then it works like it should. Any ideas what is happening?

Mine started doing it also. Try shutting off the WiFi on your iPhone and turn it back on. Works every time for me. However I have to do it often for it to reconnect.

Known issue and has been happening for at least a year now for many users (there’s even a bunch of posts here about it)

there is an over the air update that has been released that supposedly fixes CarPlay issues. So hopefully it’ll be resolved once the update rolls out to your vehicle

Good afternoon, please send a DM with your VIN and local Ford dealer and we can look into this concern with your Ranger. Thanks!

When I used wireless CarPlay this would happen all the time. Easiest way I found to correct it was turn off CarPlay and turn it back on again or reboot the center console.

I switched to wired because you can't use the vehicle hotspot and wireless CarPlay at the same time. I haven't had a loss of audio issue since.

Pretty common issue, actually. Happens about 20% of the time for me. I turn my phone to airplane mode, then back to normal and it almost always reconnects normally. Irritating, but I think every new vehicle is going to have tech issues.

I opened a ticket with my dealer for this issue, Kendall Ford, Wasilla Alaska, to no resolution.

I turned Apple CarPlay off and I just use Bluetooth for connectivity unless I need navigation. I also keep looking for Sync updates, and none have been available. Frustrating I can’t use CarPlay, but Bluetooth works all the time.

Same thing happens with Android phones. I have a Pixel 8 Pro and have run into the same issues.

Hold the power button on the radio for 15-30 seconds. It will then reset sync. Seems to work for me when the audio doesn’t work on startup.

I have the same issue semi-regularly. Turning carplay off and on doesn't work. I haven't tried rebooting my phone.
