Next up! Installed the S&B intake and flashed the Ford Performance Calibration. Drained the tank down to 6 miles to empty, filled up with 91, went home and updated. Took maybe 20 mins, not including signing up for the web account etc. Flashing was easy as long as you have a MS Windows laptop somewhere.

S&B intake pics -- I went with the non-oiled filter. Pretty easy install, a bit awkward getting the passenger side turbo inlet aligned but it all fits together perfectly.

The dry filter is the way to go... I replace mine every 2 years or so in my Gen 2 - I only drive 8k miles/year. Also, why does everyone have the dealer install the ProCal tune if it is so easy to do yourself?

You only get the Ford Performance warranty coverage if a dealer or ASE-certified mechanic installs it.

I just wanted to say that I have not been too impressed with my tuxmats. Might reinstall the OEM all weather floor mats.

The adhesive tabs for the tuxmats suck, and the passenger side has a bulge in the center of the mat that won't go down. Pretty disappointed given the cost.

i need the measurement on the bolt spacing so i can compare. i would like to find interchangeable parts from other things to add to a list for future owners. like if those bolt spacings are the same as the f150, f150 spacers are all over for super cheap

If installed by a dealer protects the 36-month warranty

Did Cactus Flat 3N62, 3N69 Gold Mountain (where do I pick up my Jeep Badge of Honor??), and some of the easier connecting trails up around Big Bear. Tested the new hammock setup, worked out beautifully. This truck is bonkers good with a lift and 35s.

Cactus Flat was the sketchiest trail by far, even though not really technically challenging. Nowhere to turn around (not even at the end, but I made it work Austin Powers style), trail is overgrown like crazy, and certain lines you're forced to take due how narrow everything is. Took a friggin bush to the face while I was distracted eyeballing an approach. :sunglasses:

Gonna go back and do Pinyon Mountain Road at some point, get me another jeep badge.

Also will be buying rear shock skids and lower arm guard soon Definitely the weak point of this truck when crawling around.

Just so you know, there are separate threads for what you did WITH your truck and what you did TO your truck.

Sounds like an awesome trip though!

LOL those pin strips are bad like mine. Waiting to get 35s to hit up Gold Mountain myself. Was debating all day about doing a run some where in Big Bear but went coach patato mode instead.

Built a fog light bracket so I could mount some added light.
