I really thought we were past this.
Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.

Agreed!
IMO wasting hundreds of dollars because of something you read on the internet is classified as pretty darn stupid.

They can only deny coverage if the tune was installed incorrectly…
It’s very easy to do yourself.
There is no part of the install where a mechanic needs to register anything with Ford!
Have you not read this thread??

Is it your money? Why do you care so deeply what others do? So bizarre.
O trust me.
I don’t care. I just don’t like unknowing people being convinced by misinformation on the internet. Luckily the admins caught onto Ranger/Hobb being a huge spreader of misinformation and banned him because of it!

I purchased and installed my FP tune myself in about 25 minutes. Been happy ever since!

Hi gang, traded in my 2017 Raptor for 24' RR. Little getting used to with size and handling but definitely growing on me....scheduled the tune next Friday. They took $100 off the procal and took $20 off and hr. So will probably be around $1k from dealer installed. Loving the current power but looking forward for this tune.
I got the same deal and I'm also having them put my J braces on as soon as the truck comes in. I hope you enjoy your new tune and the comfort of knowing the Ford dealer installed your Ford part. I have known my Ford dealer for 34 years and they are a staple in the community. They have a mechanic who is their Ford Perfomance specialist. He installs Ford Performance parts as well as the tunes. They have a warranty specialist who I can talk face to face with. A few people on here will like to call you an idiot for spending a couple hundred bucks on something you could have gone through a bunch of bs and hope the people you got you information from were correct. Ignore them and enjoy the best vehicle ever made !!!

Been on a ton of these sites and pretty used to it...thanks for your positive feedback. Hey, even though I know how to mow my lawn I still hire a landscaper to do it. With me it's not about the money. Used my Ford pass points for the install and still have 250 left.

We can't get past this because people keep posting their opinions. When someone says:

AlpineBike said:
They can only deny coverage if the tune was installed incorrectly…
...but won't back it up with official statements from Ford, then we're always going to have this argument.

AlpineBike said:
I’m not aware of of a single Ecoboost engine failure that was denied warranty coverage because the FP tune wasn’t installed by a dealer or ASE mechanic.
Congratulations. You just presented a perfect ad ignorantiam or "appeal to ignorance" argument.

Can we please get a mod to delete all the warranty posts and create a new, "Sticky" one that says:
"If you have warranty questions, please read the warranty information provided by the manufacturer. If you still have questions, call the manufacturer. If you still have warranty questions after that, we can't help you. Nothing can help you."

He hasn't been banned, you just can't see his posts anymore.
He's still sharing pictures of the JC Whitney Ranger.

That’s unfortunate to hear.
Give it some more time. It’ll happen.

Although I do seriously question the judgement of some of the admins on here as well…

Installed mine on Saturday in about 20 minutes. Super easy. Actually faster than previous tunes Ive installed on other brands.

I had filled up before getting home and the first thing I noticed after the tune install was my DTE for my fuel went from 323 to 343. I guess the ECU now thinks Im going to get better MPG. Well, Ill show that silly goose.

On my first drive, punching it at every light and grinning from ear to ear I ended up in my garage down to 12mpg lol. On my way to work today and driving gently in trafic I got it back up to 15.5.

Like everyone else says, the transmission feels like night and day smoother. I havent put it in sport mode yet after the tune, but the throttle response in normal mode now feels like its in sport mode. No longer feels a little sluggish off the line. And passing power on the highway is just there. Cant wait to see how it adapts over this tank of gas. To note, I am using 93 octane and have been since I picked up the truck 2k miles ago.

Two out of three isn't bad or wouldn't be if the first statement were correct.
It is correct, I've done it, it is very easy to do, and there is no post install registration. And, while having done it I cannot see how it could be done "incorrectly" however for warranty claims you would need either proof Ford installed it or whatever certification you had your ASE guy document. There may be some confusion as the initial step involves "registration" of/on the Ford Performance website.[/QUOTE]
