Been lots of discussion about adding the upper glove box recently, I have one on order for my XLT. I was in LOWES today and they had these surprisingly powerful vacuum cleaners on sale from $39 to $19. I bought one and my wife liked it a lot so I am picking up another one tomorrow. Measures 12” long and about 2.75 inches wide at the widest.

I'm thinking about gloves, but maybe that's too obvious.

DO NOT keep lithium ion battery devices in your car, especially in your glove box in Summer and ESPECIALLY in Florida, where your box gets toasty! They are a documented fire hazard (thermal runaway) and this is clearly described in most tool owner manuals, including your vac. “Store indoors and away from direct sunlight, heat and humidity”. The only lithium devices that are safe to store inside in hot weather have LiFePO4 chemistry (lithium iron phosphate) like the recent generation of RV batteries. There are very few automotive ones in the market, I have an EcoPower battery brick and also a portable jump starter/ compressor that have Iron Phospate batteries, both are safe to keep in the cab. All my DeWalt tools are not safe to store inside my vehicles. If I do carry them, they go in the bed in hot weather, plus the battery packs are stored and charged inside my air conditioned home.

This applies to a handgun with a rechargeable rail mounted weapon light, that should go under a seat, not in the glovebox, and don’t keep it inside long term. My Security 380 goes in the top box for very short periods, like a doctors appointment, in mild weather only …

If the fire risk isn’t enough, high temperatures drastically shorten the lifespan of the cells. Your powerful little vac will be a complete dud within a year. With a non- replaceable battery, it will have to go into the recycle bin.

It is too bad these “features” are not mentioned in the sales descriptions.

A Glock 26, two mags and a Hinderer XM-18 3.5” fits nicely in the upper box in my RR.
Glad to see there are more that store their weapon there. I keep my wife's H&K 40 cal. with two mags there. My Kimber 45ACP stays in the center console.

Keep my sig 365 9 in the center console safe, my 365 380 or Ruger LCP Max in my pocket holster. The wife stores one of hers in the upper GB.

For all you guys running around with guns in the car.
Do you accompany them with anything useful like a flashlight or tourniquet? Basic first aid?

Pretty hard to claim you carry it for self defense when you only carry tools to harm and nothing to help.
