Original install at 4,700 miles, now @ 11,259 miles, no issues. Pro Cal is better than the factory tune power / tq aside. As others have stated, I would have done it for the improvements in throttle / shift logic alone. Extra power / tq is a nice bonus and makes the truck "just right" even though it was quick even before the Pro Cal.

I just don't see a reason to use anything other than Pro Cal on a Ford Raptor (of any type) unless you have a custom-built bottom end and larger turbo's. At that point you have a legitimate custom-built hot rod that can tolerate more knock than a factory engine can without major failure, giving "tuners" more wiggle room.

On an OE bottom end, even though it has forged rods, we're still talking hypereutectic pistons that can't handle heavy knock due to tuning errors which are VERY easy to make. OE designs are only adding strength where ABSOLUTELY necessary because it's cheaper to use high reliability ECU calibration than sloppy shop tuning that needs a heavy duty bottom end to soak up the tuning limitations (i.e., they didn't test it well enough in hot dry weather and you end up with heavy knock, a forged piston might survive that until it's corrected but a factory hypereutectic piston would likely end up with a cracked land aka a new bottom end!).

OE bottom end = OE cal's. (either stock or FP Pro Cal)
Built bottom end = aftermarket custom cal's.

Just my 2 cents. If I ever wanted more power, it would be a completely built engine from the ground up before I ever considered a custom non-Ford cal. Turbos, Mahle forged rods and pistons, downpipes etc. and custom cal. to match. But that's a huge investment and in my opinion just a waste of money for most people.

Got my tune installed yesterday, so far no noticeable difference. I've heard plenty about the ~200 mile adaption of the tune to the truck, do the changes come on progressiviely during this time or is it after it has fully "adapted"?
not the 3.0, in my 2.3, it was immediately noticeable

I've had my 2024 raptor ranger for about a year. I installed the Procal tune as soon as it was available. I did notice an improvement with performance. However, I recently have been working with Goosetuned on a custom tune and his maps are on another level. I wish I would have skipped the Procal tune. The only mods to the truck are S&B airbox and charge pipes. We did a 94 octane tune and E40 tune. The E40 makes serious power!! When we are all wrapped up I'll get some draggy numbers.

You better upgrade your fuel system if you plan on running E40 on a regular basis. I guarantee you're going to lean out and your HPFP won't keep up. Sure, you can cut things back but then you negate the reason for running E40 in the first place.

First impression - definitely shifts better, and feels more snappy off the line.

I just installed the tune myself. I figure the FP warranty is only 36k miles, and I am already at 15k. It's probably not worth paying a dealer to do it.

First impression - definitely shifts better, and feels more snappy off the line.
My understanding is that the warranty is for 36k miles total on the tune, not the vehicle itself.

I had mine installed yesterday and the major difference, besides the power increase, is that truck downshifts A LOT smoother in Sport Mode. I can definitely see myself driving in Sport mode more often now, its so much more comfortable/compliant.

The RR has plenty of power in stock form, but the tune is a no-brainer from an owner's perspective- it "upgrades" the trucks driving dynamics noticeably, has a warranty, and to me, it's still OEM.

My only question is- does the module need to be plugged in at all times? I much prefer to not have to have mine mounted on my windshield. I would much rather have it stowed away or tucked somewhere more stealth.

no, you can unplug and leave it at the house or wherever you wish to store the tuner. mine is in the closet at the house

It does not need to be plugged in.

It says "New Vehicle in Service". My understanding is the date when truck was purchased new.

Despite the learning period, you should notice an immediate difference in sport mode.

I noticed an immediate difference. Also, there is some moderate power gain in the mid-range even before the learn function according to Steeda's dyno, just not in the top end until it has completed the learn cycle.

Immediate Differences:
1. Shift strategy
2. Throttle mapping
3. Mid-range torque and power

Differences After Learn:
1. Increase in top end power / torque
2. Further increase in mid-range power / torque
3. Optimized pressures for 10R60 shifting and torque lock engagements

1600 MILES TUNE UPDATE, I had my tune done around 900 miles. Very happy, the truck was very fast to begin with but I definitely notice the power mid range RPM and better throttle response. At first I did not really notice a great difference, but as time and miles went on I noticed the shifting times and just more power accelerating. As far as a mileage difference cannot really tell having too much fun going too fast. my lowest so far was 13mpg highest 20mpg (yes 20, interstate and old man driving).
I went with with the dealer install . It only took about 40 minutes, before I went there I created a username and password for the performance site, that way its registered in your name etc. (dealer advised) Before I did that I shopped around, found the unit for 600 or so but the dealer wanted 300.00 to install if not bought from them. I paid 683.00 OTD, including install with 20% off special and my points definitely worth it . You can take it back to normal anytime or if high octane is not available.

No one bought these trucks because they are slow , so if the manufacturer is willing to provide and warranty an upgrade , more HP and torque got to do it Thanks enjoy

That's interesting.

I tried sport mode once and found it all a bit too aggressive for frequent use.

If the Ford performance tune smooths that out a bit, that would be cool.

I found the downshifting to be less aggressive AT FIRST. After the learning period the up shifts are definitely still smoother but the down shifts are maybe a little smoother when you’re braking lightly, but when you’re braking harder they are more aggressive than before imo (which I personally like) and the engine braking feels more aggressive.


I love the tune personally. After a tank or two of gas the truck really pulls noticeably harder all the way through the range and one of the biggest things for me is the truck feels fast and really pulls now when you floor it at 50 or 60mph whereas before I felt like it pulled pretty well at lower speeds but lost some pep at highway speed.
