Thanks for sharing this innovative concept. Can you elaborate on more details of this full pre-order? I ask because it's not something I'm typically comfortable with in general.
-Technically one could remove the lock hardware or modify the lock to not require a key and thus be keyless entry, of course it wouldn't be a keyless lock in that case, just keyless entry...
Thanks for the support! We will offer two pre-order pathways. One is a full deposit that includes a 10% discount on your topper. The second will be a $1000 deposit that will secure your place in production. Once your topper is scheduled for production, we will reach out to you for full payment to start building your topper.

I will make a video explaining this in detail soon. You can also find answers to questions on our FAQ page. https://narwhaltrucktoppers.com/pages/faq

You definitely can get a ton of ventilation with all the windows open and the turret hatch removed. What kind of tailgate tents have you been running?
Have only used ground tents, cabins, and hotels in 26 years with pickup trucks.

Currently still with my Jeep I bought last year, and now making moves to get into a RR.

For people like me who enjoy the outdoors and hunting, being 70 takes its toll. In Kansas I can hunt from a vehicle with a special permit per K.S.A. 8-1,124. Having a turret with an access port allows me to stand up with support, and if I had a ring mount attachment, I could add a rifle support and a spotter. If you don't need that, the turret hatch is still there. You have opportunity by being unique until the competition catches up when any patents expire, so why not appeal to the broadest possible market if it can be manufactured even as an option?
We will be releasing our full launch commercial in a couple of days. There is a scene at the end with a sniper rifle and a bipod. This will give you a good idea of what using a rifle out of the hatch as it sits would look like.

There will be brainstorming sessions on making follow-up accessories to support hunters with stable shooting positions from the turret. Keep the ideas and recommendations coming, and we will take all the feedback into account when developing anything in the future.

I love everything about it except the looks. I personally prefer something a little more sleek, which is subjective. But the use of carbon, the accessories and features are awesome. How are the shells manufactured? Pre-preg pieces of carbon or laid in a mold and injected?

And a little bit of the SOF world coming into our trucks is really cool.

Thank you. There are several reasons for the design. The roof height was adjusted to support people running roof racks and to provide a more level surface for mounting accessories. The usable interior space is better than most toppers/caps. The additional ceiling height also allows for accessories to be mounted across the inside of the roof without impairing visibility through the back of the topper. The overall design was intended to pull out the truck's design features and enhance them rather than blend in. There are dozens of options that already provide that look.

The topper is a standard modulus continuous Carbon Fiber Construction with an epoxy matrix; this includes global plies and localized reinforcements. Parts have been fabricated with an advanced VARTM process. We will use a combination of RTM and VARTM processes to produce our toppers at higher volumes.

I hope this helps, and our CTO will be at SEMA if anyone would like to deep dive into technical information with him.

I can imagine there is quite a bit more useable room with this topper. Looks are a subjective thing the most important thing to me is useability and seems like this thing has that covered.

It's awesome to see a new/small company come out with something different and innovative to try and change and push the industry. Kudos to you guys and can't wait to see the success!

Totally understand just the carbon fiber look on initial roll out, but give it some future thought on offering Ford factory colors provided the exterior could facilitate a painted surface. If this topper was available in the factory Desert Tan you’d have yourself a customer. Yes, that carbon fiber color looks Amazing on the gray paint scheme, but I just don’t want a black canopy on my tan truck (exactly why other brands like the Smart Cap are out). Hopefully that makes sense and I’m sure there are others that feel similarly.
Top Notch out of the box product! And your company is addressing the white elephant in the room (literally) that no other canopy manufacturer is….weight.
Well Done!
One last question - I understand the company is based out of CO, does that also mean that these canopies are domestically manufactured here in the U.S. by U.S. labor or engineered & designed in the U.S., then imported and shipped out of CO?

I appreciate your feedback, and I'm glad to hear you like the features and weight. We hope our customers will want to showcase the carbon fiber look on their trucks on all paint colors. Similar to how you see carbon wings, wheels, and body kits on high-end vehicles. Here is a Mediocre AI rendering of a tan raptor. (Totally understand this is not an accurate reflection of desert tan)

We are going to have a paint booth in our facility for clear-coat application, so we will consider setting up a custom paint color booth in the future if demand is there.

As of now, all D&E is a joint effort between our U.S. internal engineers and a design house in Toronto mentioned in the post.

We have a fully U.S. based staff, along with U.S. manufacturing and U.S. labor. A very small number of machined parts are being imported—some small brackets, etc.

We are doing everything we can to make this as close to a 100% U.S. made product as possible.

Hope this clears things up for you.

i would imagine its not terribly expensive to have someone paint it at a person's local body shop when they got one of these home.

i would try to do some type of color coating also just for the uv protection. i know you guys clear coat probably has uv protection in it but i would still want to a color on top for long term protection
