Never noticed this on any vehicle I ever bought. Got my new Ranger XL home and noticed the tire pressure all around is 46 PSI. Sticker says it should be 35 PSI. I'm no idiot, but I work on computers, not Trucks.

The interweb says this is something done during shipping or while it sits on a dealer lot. I'm guessing now that I've had it about a week maybe I should drop the PSI to 35?

Your tire pressure should match what's printed in the door label.

Anything higher is a shipping issue or dealership error.

I've found most dealerships don't check pressures on tires when the vehicles hit the lot, and nearly everything I've test driven was grossly over-pressurized.

Just drove home my new 25 ranger lariat, my door label says 30 lbs for all. I was shocked, they all were set at 30lbs.

My door jam sticker says 30psi as well. Why do some call for higher pressure? Is it the fx4 with AT tires that call for 30 and non-fx4’s call for higher pressure?

Out of the dealer the tire pressure was at 42 PSI. recommended pressure on the door says 35 cold PSI. Being that the temperature rating is B on the Goodyear Wranglers the tire pressure fluctuates a bit. I keep my tires around 33 cold pressure in the summer and 35 cold PSI in the winter. 19 PSI on the beach. 18" rims and tires on the Lariat might have a different rating.

different tire sizes and rim diameters.

although it seems odd to me there is such a difference In tire pressure

i thought the ford Australia ranger manual made more sense to me for tire pressure recommendations

where 30psi is the recommended pressure for both sizes for normal driving

and 38psi for eco

I think that LT class tires need more pressure. I have the General Grabber (LT) tires on my truck and my door sticker calls for 39psi.

Yea seems to vary based on wheel size, tire and or model.
Seems all the 18" Wheels with the 255 tires found on models like the Lariats call for 30 PSI.

Sounds like the 17" the OP has is calling for 35 psi.

I want to say the Raptors 17" 285s call for 38psi not 100% on that off the top of my head.

Thank you for providing this chart. For those of us in the US, multiply the kPa values by 0.145 to get psi.

It's interesting that my XLT Sport with 255/70R-17 tires shows 38 psi recommended pressure on the door jamb label. I usually run at 32 psi for comfort.
