Transmission; other skid plates causing any heat issues?

Looking at trucks with multiple armor/skid plates underneath, wondering if anyone's experienced higher temp issues, especially with transmission that now will have less air passing over it when driving?

I am in the process of putting on full skids and am wondering the same thing. Do you have full skids installed yet?

if it gets to warm, you can probably add louvers with the pushed out lips down so they create a Bernoulli effect and pull heat down allowing the air coming from up higher to flow properly.

Can you explain a little more? The sides of the trans skid fold up.

when you have those louvers facing downwards into the air stream, the faster moving air pulls the stagnet slow moving air down into the flow which will allow the high pressure ram air from the engine bay to move into the low pressure zone under the truck, but above the skid plates. it should help with some flow if the air is stalling under the truck

I don't think they will make that change. What about a NACA duct?

It's old and was a failure with jet engines. But is widely used in automotive applications.

I bet that would help feed cold air in. Maybe enough to force the air underneath to move?

Radiant heat shedding off the surfaces of the trans or engine contribute near zero to the cooling needs. Notice there's no cooling fins etc. Good coverage and even Full underbody skidplates have been around for many decades, they don't cause any overheating issues. Just don't put em in front of the grille...

yes, its a ton of work. i do know that

I'm not worried about it. Transmission fluid runs through the radiator and I believe an extra cooler since I have the towing package

I've got full skids and haven't noticed any trans temps being higher after installingthem. I pull my 3k overlanding trailer on most trips from east coast to west coast.
I just installed a PPE deep trans pan mainly because I wasn't a drain plug and the deep pans didn't cost much more than a shallow one.
Holds almost 2qrts more, I'll post up if I see any difference on next trip coming up.
