THe #4 pin of the 7 pin supplies a constant 12 volts for charging the camper batteries, not lights or brakes so it's doubtful it will trigger the module. I can check easy enough beforehand.
I'll run both + and - to the tow harness. It's a factory tow harness so there's already a ground wire there for the 7 pin.

How do you ensure waterproof connection at the back of the panel with the Scanstrut? They seem like they expect a dry environment at the back?
I don't really think it will be an issue, it's up pretty high and the wheel liner keeps the splash away from that area. Plus I live in a dry climate with little rain and no snow. I've had the truck since October and it's only been driven in the rain once. If anything does happen to it I'll just replace it.
