Farley's Optional-priced Removed Devices (FORD) extravaganza means paying even more for less for the 2027 on top of the 2026 already eliminating features of the 2025, with no reduction in pricing. At least Ford did not resurrect the 1970s Maverick/Comet premium "Corinthian vinyl" as a Ranger Raptor exclusive and just kept the same Active-X that they upholster some Escapes, Maverick Lobo, Lariat, and Tremor, and Ranger Lariat.
Are you referring to the Corinthian Leather? That was a Chrysler Cordoba commercial featuring Ricardo Montalbán.

I've read some mixed information regarding pricing... but the general consensus shows the XL going up $500 and XLT going up $1000 and Raptor goes up $2000

An then add the Luxury package estimate $2,000 to $3,000 and you get $4 to $5 thousand increase
All just a estimate

Until Ford puts the 2027 build and price tool up, it's all just speculation as far as price goes. Though it will most likely be going up. The UAW got their 25% raise and that has to come from somewhere.

"Corinthian" was a term considered luxurious in the 1970s. The "Corinthian leather" that Montalbán promoted was coined by Jim Nichols of the Omaha-based Bozell Advertising Agency in 1974, which was an advertising firm working for Chrysler. That product was genuine leather made in Newark, New Jersey, by the Radel Leather Manufacturing Company.

"Corinthian vinyl" was a Ford "luxury vinyl" product used in Ford/Mercury. Several places reproduce it:
L-4061 1970-1974 Ford, Mercury Vinyl - Color: Med Ginger Corinthian
1973-79 F-Series Corinthian Grain Vinyl | Upholstery | Interior

Is Ford the only brand that decontents this way, or does GM and Stelantis do the same thing? Was seriously considering a 27 Ranger and now I'm incredibly discouraged and on principle I won't spring for it. Was especially hoping for the tremor, and now that's not on the table either. Ford, you're losing customers (and like hell I'm jumping to a F150).

No problem. Had wondered about it myself because my friend had a Mustang with that vinyl. I thought it was Naugahyde!

That's a crying shame considering how many defects I have on my truck.

interestingly, the lower trims all get the 12” center console display as standard.
And the dual zone climate control. Those were both part of the XLT 301a package. So in some cases they’re doing the opposite of decontenting. Upcontenting?

The Ranger suffers from being on the same assembly line as the Bronco. The Bronco already has a lot of build complexity. Taking some of the build complexity out of the lower volume Ranger makes some sense for Ford. The winner here is the tech now standard in the XL. The losers are "extras" in the XLT and Lariat trims.

Active X seems like a more practical seating surface than leather in a functional truck.

Hot Take: the changes to the Lariat Trim makes sense from a build complexity standpoint. A base Lariat feature set now starts at what is well-optioned XLT. This makes a lot of sense going forward. You'll push a lot of XLT buyers into the lower "base" Lariat and have fewer build versions of XLTs.

The head scratcher is the luxury package on the Raptor. Either 1) those options have gotten more expensive from suppliers and to keep starting price under $60k, they are option-ing them or 2)less likely, Ford can push the price down $2k/3k by offering them as an option and really put pressure on Chevy/Stellanis. But, now you've added build complexity to a trim that didnt have much.

This has probably been discussed before, but some of the features listed as part of the new Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0 package were already included on 2026 models, even though they were not mentioned in the 2026 Order Guide. Lane Centering and Stop & Go ACC are examples.

I don't personally have much use for Lane Centering (don't care for the near constant reminders to keep my hands on the wheel, especially when they already are), but Stop & Go ACC is very useful in, wait for it... stop and go traffic.

I mention this only as another example of inconsistencies between the Order Guide and what actually gets delivered on production vehicles.

Ford Ranger 2027 RANGER ORDER GUIDE 1792425417191-j9

Found this interesting. From what I understand the sport package is basically color matched rims and front/rear bumpers with a "sport" sticker slapped onto the bed. Additionally, it seems the advanced tow and tech package are likely just being renamed to Ford Co-Pilot360® Assist 2.0 plus Towing Technology. The description of what the package offers seems to just be a more advanced version of the current tow + tech package.
