I waited on a 2026 seeing that they were doing a small refresh and switching to Google digital vs Sync. Well nothing and they removed folding side mirrors.
My '26 has folding mirrors. It also has puddle lights, self-leveling headlights with cornering, and shit I'm still discovering.

Farley has stated multiple times that every Ford “available for purchase” with an ICE power train will have a hybrid option. This tells me that we will be getting a Ranger Powerboost or else the Ranger is being dropped in North America and will be replaced by a Bronco pickup. Either is possible.
And Farley has stated many times that neither the Ford Ranger hybrid nor the Ranger Super Duty WILL be coming to the US because we already have the F 150 and the Maverick. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a69713756/ford-ranger-phev-super-duty-not-coming-to-america/

Ford isn't gearing up production of the Ranger, even though they can't keep up with demand, and they're not attempting to take the crown back from Toyota. The Tacoma is outselling the Ranger 3 to 1, even though the Ranger is the better truck. I'm really wondering if they may be trying to get rid of the Ranger again, this time with another mid-size, the new mid-sized fully electric pickup. https://fordauthority.com/2026/06/m...ike-an-electric-maverick-in-first-look-video/ Not quite sure why they would build a mid-sized to compete in the mid-sized pickup market

Yes you have a Lariat I bet. They removed items from the 2026 XLT trim level that were present in 2025.

Incorrect. Farley has said the Ranger PHEV is not coming to US. There is a big difference between a Ranger PHEV (which would sell in low numbers largely because of cost) and a Ranger Powerboost.

Yes I know, if you note, I own a Powerboost. I also know that Ford is planning an "mid-sized, extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) that adds a gasoline engine as a generator to boost range and towing capability" to the lineup. It could be called a Ranger I suppose, but is supposedly smaller than a Maverick. So an F 150 Powerboost, a hybrid Maverick, and a new smaller EV pickup, I don't honestly see any room in Ford's plan to allow for a hybrid Ranger that would compete with all of the rest of the Ford electrified pickup lineup. That's right up there with building a US spec Ranger based Everest to compete with the Bronco and cash cow Explorer, besides Ford's been decreasing their overall lineup, not increasing it. That being said, as much as I love the Powerboost, if Ford offered a Ranger hybrid tomorrow, I'd buy it on the spot.

I will continue shouting into the void until Ford brings the PHEV Ranger (or any variant of a hybrid Ranger) to the US market. Maybe I have to pull a John Cusack in Say Anything and stand outside Jim Farley's house with a boombox over my head playing reviews of the PHEV Ranger.

With the decontenting they did in 2026, you may not want to wait as there might not be seats and a bed included for 2027. 😉
That's why I'm waiting for the 7th gen. The 7th gen will have all of the stuff that got decontented on the later 6th gens plus some new features.

Raptor. Sorry, I thought you were talking higher trims.
RR and Lariat use a lot of the same parts like mirrors. the 24-25 xlts had power fold, and the xlt 301a high package gave you mirror turns, puddle, heated glass. now the 26 301a only give you heat. they lost puddle, power fold and all models RR to base XL lost turn signals.

Here's what I know, like most people with kids, I have a limited budget and with having had a rough start in life (lost a child to disease, a wife to a car accident and an adopted son who tried to kill my second wife just 2 years ago on top of all the COVID shenanigans and resulting inflation), where im at, doesnt matter how good the refresh looks or even if it has 100 hp more, I got what I got and Im thankful just to have my 2024 RR as a family / do it all UTV.

I get that some might be in the market for a new vehicle, especially if they have a Gen 1 with a picky 10R80 thats causing them headaches from the quality problems Ford had for the first several years, but not me. Although it will be interesting to see what is in the refresh, im doubtful there will be much for the Raptor trims aside from MAYBE converting thr 3.0L to dual injection, but if 3.0L production and tuning is proven reliable, why mess with the reliability for an application that sees little benefit?

I have a feeling that the refresh of thr Gen 2 is going to be almost entirely minor trim piece updates and a reshufling of feature sets / options. Im doubtful there will be more than that until the Gen 7s and we're a ways away from that as the midsize truck segment tends to be on a decade long timeframe between generations unlike higher volume models that see new gens every 6 to 7 years.

Redesigns can be costly from a development standpoint and then come all the production bugs. So if its a lower volume segment, they seem to focus more on just making the same thing a little better over time vs. pushing the latest and greatest.
