Howdy everyone, I’m currently at 30,800mi on my 2024 RR. I do not have the tune, installed an S&B CAI at approx 26K miles. Need to take it in due to the following concerns:

Turbo spool up is higher pitched whistle than it was (occurred before installing CAI)

Engine “pulsates” at idle when hot (200F oil temp) (began about 30,000mi)

Coolant level cold or hot is below min level at reservoir on passenger side and after I turn off engine I hear the rushing fluid sound I assume is pressure equalizing but no idea.

Free water leaking from passenger side muffler just forward of spare tire.

nearby dealership (Houston, TX) is not great - they couldn’t install tune- sent me this photo),

and not a good experience (when I went in for a recall some tech sends me a 5 sec video of my truck with the hood open saying that they’ve checked everything they need to check without showing me the recall fix or a battery tester or a dipstick check, nada)

so should I reinstall the stock airbox before I take it in? Or does anyone know of a dealership within 100 miles of Houston that won’t care about the CAI and does good work?

Turbo spool noise and engine pulsing can 100% be due to after market intake

Definitely go back to stock intake and see if those issues go away. Having the stock intake is also just one less thing the dealer can blame the issues on

The spool noise was happening with the stock airbox and I hoped the CAI may solve that,
but I agree it would help by determining if it is affecting idle and definitely the safe bet before going to the dealership.
I bought it out of state because both dealerships in town wanted $10k on top of MSRP…

And my wife wants to go to a bigger town to hopefully get a better deal on a Ranger raptor. San antonio, austin, or houston are our options and we are going to galveston mid june. But aparently bigger towns arent going to get us a better price

I'm in Houston and every dealer had mark ups of one sort or another. Tried for months to get a RR at MSRP but could not locally. Ended up buying out of state from a small Ford dealership in Minnesota at near invoice price, had it shipped. Saved thousands.
Shop around in other states to find better pricing. Just saw another small dealership in Minnesota advertising a RR for $2K off. Guess they don't have the demand for them like other parts of the country. Good luck.

yea I flew to El Dorado AR and bought mine at MSRP from Karl Malone Ford. Drove it back, it’s ridiculous! I’m in Katy btw so my closest dealership is AutoNation and I’m not a fan.

Here’s a small video of the turbo noise I was talking about, hopefully audio transfers with the video.

My initial guess after hearing that is boost leak somewhere.. do you have any blue smoke intermittently? Also did you notice any loss in power once this started?

No smoke, no noticeable loss in power, I don’t remember what boost levels are normal at idle, wot, etc..

Hard to find a good dealer in Houston. I have Gullo Ford and Planet Ford near me. Both fair for service but lousy for sales.

Yup, autonation never works with anyone. They like to tell you they have the lowest price marked and take it or leave it. I leave it
