Just be careful which ones you get, not all use the same mounting points and the first ones I purchased from Amazon, not only didn't lift the hood up high enough (inexpensive carbon fiber looking struts), but also tended to "pop-off" of the mounting bracket it was firmly attached to. WTF! Went with the Redline units that mackieranger also listed here and they work perfect for me as well.
I too installed the Techpicco struts like Chief did. I can vouch for the performance. They work well.
I especially appreciate how the hood pops to the safety latch making it very easy to release.
I am updating my opinion of the Redline Tuning. I think the hood was raised and lowered 2 times since installation and that was just to test the installation.
I went out today to install my new grill lights and after lifting the hood, I found the driver side Redline Tuning gas spring wouldn't budge and ripped the hardware off the bottom of the hood when it was raised. I took the entire driver side off and it is clear the gas spring failed as it won't move at all.
