I use Motornaster synthetic oil made by Shell. It meets that spec.
If you're talking about this Motomaster 5w20 Synthetic I'm afraid it does not meet the proper spec. It does meet a Ford specs WSS-M2C945-B and WSS-M2C945-B1 but that's not what our engines call for.

I am and the pics on the website are wrong, the jug I got has the 961 number on it.

Can you share a photo? I'm really intrigued by an oil meeting WSS-M2C961-A1 that isn't of Ford's approved/recommended viscosity. Every page I see for that oil shows that it meets WSS-M2C945-B and WSS-M2C945-B1.

While Amsoil 5W-30 SS claims to meet Ford WSS-M2C961-A1 specification, it's not certified by Ford to meet it.
While a perfectly good oil it's not warranty approved. Is it formulated to prevent the composite oil drive belt from breaking down over time? Your guess is as good as mine.
Personally I would only include products on the list that are certified to meet Ford's specifications.

I see what you did there, cutting off the image at 5W- 😉
Didn't notice I did will take another one when I get back from work if I remember.
OK so the 1L container says something different than the 5L container. The 5W20 meets 960 and the 5W30 meets the 961. They can't make up their mind

fords service interval is 10k

i haven’t seen anything to suggest 5k is more than sufficient for any of the oils on the list

that’s looking at oil analysis reports ranger owners have graciously shared.

I notice in the new 2026 ford ranger manual.

WSS-M2C971-A1 is now listed as the oil spec

i do not think motorcraft Synthetic blend meets WSS-M2C971-A1 or the 961 specs?

even though it is listed as a suitable oil

If Motorcraft SB wouldn't meet the new 971 spec, why would they fill the oil pan with it at the factory?
