For all the forscan experts. Anyone out there tried to adjust the outside air temperature thermometer?

There have been several threads about FORScan, but would like to consolidate into one place like was done for the 5G Ranger.

The below document will be updated as people give confirmation as to what works and what does not. I am hoping to find GUI changes as Asbuilt changes together if possible, like you will see on the Confirmed tab for the Chimes and Bambi mode

Web version: FORScan NA Ranger 6G
Actual Gsheet: FORScan NA Ranger 6G - Gsheet

The 3 most useful tabs:
  1. Features Confirmed - these are options that are proven to work on the Ranger
  2. Features TBD - these were collected from F150, Ranger5G, and Bronco and need to be confirmed
  3. FORScan GUI - this is a dump of all the options for all NON-ASBUILT module pages in FORScan while connected to a 6G Ranger

IF YOU CAN CONFIRM a configuration change works, if you could post to this thread with this information:
  • Feature name from the Feature Tab
  • What value you changed from -> to (asbuilt only, or GUI)
  • Ranger trim level tested on
  • Any side effects or gotchas when making the change
  • Any other details of what the feature actually does (in layman terms)

Please PM me if you would like to be an editor for this sheet or request access from within the Gsheet.

** NOTE ** The sheet may take some time for changes to get entered after there are posts with confirmations. So be patient please :)
Ok, I am a Ford tech. Confused on how forscan works. What scan tool required etc. Thanks

Ok so I just used Forscan to change tire diameter for my new 33” tires on my ‘25 Lariat. The value I need to enter is 2571. After following the steps outlined earlier I still had an error due to this message in the PCM relearn process:

Tire Circumference: Parameter in Central Configuration is out of range for this module

I changed the circumference back to is original value of 2409 and relearned PCM/TCM and AWD, and then all DTCs were clear.

After going through many iterations of circumference values I found that the maxim allowable value is 2480. Thats where I’ve left it for now.

So I can confirm that Forscan can program the circumference on a 25 Lariat but the maximum allowable value is 2480.

Has anyone found a way around this? Is changing the axle ratio going to screw anything else up if I do that to adjust for tire size?

FWIW I just tried changing the axle ratio to 3.55 with a circumference of 2443. The PCM module states the axle ratio is out of range. Since 3.73 it the only axle ratio across all 2025 Rangers, maybe it’s constrained to just that.

The only way to accurately change your tire size is through a PCM data change. The Procal device that comes with the Ford Performance tune has the ability to write that information to the PCM in the form of revolutions per mile. And now that HP Tuners seems to have cracked the code for MG1 PCMs, I assume you could use that tool to make the modifications to the PCM as well.

Well I’ve been waiting to order the Performance Tune, so this is enough to get ‘er done. Tune is ordered. ?

Anyone successfully change their tire diameter?

I’m running 35’s (actual 34.8) and my math came to 2776.92mm. After swapping the numbers the Speedo is still off by a couple mph.

you have to play with it to get the speedo right. i changed mine twice to try to get the speedo to actually match the gps. i am closer but not exactly on yet.

i am going to just break down and do the same thing i have to do on my bicycle to get the diameter when i get a new bike computer. i have to put the bike on the road with the valve stem straight down and draw a chalk line on the ground. than roll the bike forward one complete revolution for the stem to be straight down again. then i measure from the chalk marks and convert it to millimeters, for the bike computer. that gets my bike computer exactly inline with my gps

I played with it for quite a while. Ended up spot on after 5 or 6 tests.

Anyone mess with DRLs?

I see a bunch of options for them in the bcm but not sure what any do or how they work.

Basically looking to do a few things and not sure if possible. Use DRL as turn signal, have turn signals as DRL and turn as well, basically mimicking the stock DRL. it would also be neat to have DRLs on 24/7, so in park not just every gear but park.

i made a post about it and someone ssid the AUS models have the DRLs on in any gear.

I tried modifying the turn signals, and i got them to activate and everything with the DRLs, besides being much brighter than the DRLs they also won't blink, only the markers on mirrors will.

I was able to turn rear camera on at speed. That is the only camera i have. Also made the "full view not available go away. Its in the spread sheet here on the asbuilt sheet. Works like a charm.

2024, 2.3l, xlt, 4x2, advance tow, elocker.
How exactly did you do that? I'm trying my best but nothing seems to work :(

Anyone know if you can change the aux switch power to be on without having to push the button to turn on full accessory power? I have a shower back there and have to go inside the cab and single press the start button to get power back there. I wired this into one of the aux wires near the hitch.

I am not sure if this is possible. I already did the accessory time out to 2 hours, but that is for USB and probably the bed power, but not aux power.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I changed a setting "Parking lights on with DRLs" and it seemed to work great! I added amber grille lights and wired them to the side markers. However, the side markers do not come on with DRLs by default. This setting allows that. Pretty easy to change disabled to enabled and send!
