Front Collision Avoidance system conflicts with front license plate.

This is what the dealer installed for me. I suppose if it hangs down farther it could be an issue.

I thought the dealers were required to install it in California? If it doesn't work I would complain.

I don't think the front tow hook mount would work on the 2025 non raptor because of where the sensor is.

Yeah, mine is exactly like this and does not throw errors..yet.

My factory mounting doesn't interfere.

The front collision avoidance system also works together with the upper windshield camera. Make sure the upper portion of the windshield around the rearview mirror is clean.

Yeah, they had me sign an acknowledgment of the law then threw the temporary in the glove box…. Shmucks!

on my 2025 two of the sensors are circled in yellow

i think if the license plate drops below the red line, it could interfere with the sensors

just a theory.

My 2025 RR Front plate holder is factory. Clips in place and has 2 factory predrilled screw holes that are reached from bottom. No interference with any sensors.

I have 2025 XL. Came with the front mounting bracket installed and I’ve not had any interference.

It's not really those sensors it's the one right under the license plate. Only really affects the ones that have that black plastic piece. Don't think the XL/XLT's have that.

I was wondering why the dealer put the temporary license for the front of my new Ranger XLT in my glovebox. It turns out that after putting my new DMV issued plate on, I got a warning light that the front collision system is blocked. CA law states that I need to have a plate on the front but I have been seeing many cars/trucks today with that “black box” and no front plate. Has anybody come up with a good mount/bracket for the front of a Ranger? Currently driving with no front plate now. 🫤

My 2025 was shipped with a bracket from the factory. It was listed on the window sticker with no charge. I have the adaptive cruise control and it is fine. It is mounted above the radar.

Ok, not what we're talking about but a fun story anyway. I am in Florida, a rear plate only state. When driving from Florida to Maryland in May of this year I was pulled over in southern Virginia outside of Emporia on I-95 for having only one plate on my truck, the rear one. The state trooper was fairly fresh faced and insisted that I was driving illegally because I only had one ... even though my truck carries a Florida plant and is registered in Florida...to a Florida resident. That's fine, I didn't argue, just accepted the ticket planning to contact the issuing county later that week. Whatever. I waited about 2 days to be sure the moron cop's ticket book would be turned in and logged. I called the Emporia General District Court and am told my ticket is voided, a notice will be sent to the address on my registration and the cop in question has been placed on unpaid leave because he issued over 30 tickets in a 2 day period for the exact same thing, over 30 out of state vehicles. I would also add, Emporia VA is an infamous I-95 speed trap.

Moral of the story, careful driving thru Emporia VA, the cops there are....uuuhhhh....not the best.

I’m not sure why but I became obsessed with tow hooks and having a real spare tire.

I didn’t get a real good look at the stock hooks until I took them off and might have left them alone as they aren’t that bad
