I came from a 12 escape too - it was a dream to work on. Engine bay was especially was well thought out - oil change, filters, battery swap, everything was easy.

Pretty happy with the Ranger, but it would be nice if I didn’t have to contort my arm like I’m going through an exorcism to change the filter on the MPC.

Definitely concur with the seats though - the base Ranger seat is amazing in comparison.
I perfered both my rangers over the oil filter on the escape. lol my 08 4x2 I never even had to use ramps or a jack to do oil change. my 25 I do to get the skid plate off. And to lower the driverside tire enough to go through the wheelwell. just 1 push pin and reach in through. I loved how my 08 3.0L V6 had the funnel built onto the frame rail kinda like the 25 2.3L i4.

Yes, demographics. I am getting out of the established standard, I have a hard time getting in the Ranger because of the door pillar angle.

Once in its comfy. Maybe, a wider seating area. With bolster out a bit.
Seat foam is firm and supportive. I am probably hard on the frame. I can see how far back i like it.

I have an old school disc removed in my back.
I would be squirming on a long trip and playing with adjustments.

I got cheap did not get the 301a package. 10 way
i was happy the seat had lumbar adjustment. 8 way. Although it could stick out a bit more for me.
The typical back seat adjustment angle.
Then the one that seems to pivot the whole seat.
Good adjustment.

i think the heated seats would be helpful.

The extra head room is great. i saw a guy like me in a 4G Ranger with his head on the roof.

I guess the foam in after market seats can be exceptional.

I would be better off with a F150, but to big a truck for a
city. My apartment space is tight.

I am very happy with my XLT.

I think the seat rail spacers at front would help.
Pushing you into the back rest.

For me I will do the leveling kit. May help me get into truck easier.

lumbar isn’t the issue. It’s the base of the seat. The side bolsters need to be wider at the back half. They cut in way too much instead of staying more parallel with the front. I’m not a big guy. I’m 5’11” 185.
I measured between the bolsters on a XLT and Lariat. The Lariat seats were about 3/4-1" wider between the bolsters. I felt it right away when I sat in a XLT. I bought a 25 Lariat and they are comfortable for me.

Which Recaro? Did you put it in the 24+ gen Ranger?

6'9", 300lb guy here and I've been comfortable for some big days in this truck. Plenty of head and leg room, easy to get comfortable in my XLT with power seats.
