I tend to keep my vehicles for 8 or more years, and all of them over time get cloudy headlights. I have a few month old RR and want to preemptively protect my headlights from becoming cloudy. What options are out there that you have used and what is your experience with them for longevity?

PPF with 3M or A-xtreme. Then, UV protectant. That's all you can do.

Or you can shoot them with a clear coat that has UV protection. That's how I fixed cloudy plastic headlight housings. Sand them then hit them with an acrylic clear coat that had UV protection.
Personally on a new vehicle I think PPF with UV protection is your best bet.

Had Llumar Valor PPF put on the headlights on my Ranger and wife's Forester about a year ago, so far, so good. We've noticed a small mark on the Forester from a rock being thrown up but thankfully it didn't chip, crack or damage the lens, these new LED headlights are $$$$

This thread was a good reminder... I was going to order some pre-cut headlight film. I've used Lamin-X before, and it is easy. So I went ahead and ordered some. A little over $50 is good insurance in the OTHER land of rock and stones - Colorado.

I swear CDOT puts rocks on the road for fun sometimes.

I use 303 on things like tonneau covers. It works well in sunny CO

The Lamin-X for me is more for the rock/sand pitting

Do you peel off the Lamin-X periodically and replace? How long does the protection last?

If you are using something other than the clear color, do you have any pictures to share? I am wondering how dark the "tint" really is and how it'd look with a black appearance package.
Not on my Ranger, but used it on a little Kia Soul I had as an airport beater car,and it was perfect. The pictures make it look lighter than it was to the eye.
But gave it a perfect amount of tint.

That does look really nice. Can you tell at night that your headlights are any less bright?

I have 3M PPF applied to mine. 10-year warranty. Perfect fitment. Protects against both rocks and UV.

Funny enough,I work graves, but living in Phx,there’s street lights everywhere,so I really didn’t notice a difference, but I would imagine out in the country,it would definitely be less bright.
