A word of caution though: it looks like it has the tow package, but not the advanced tow package.
Nah its right there. Thats why the "tow package" is listed as No Charge. Why they are not next to each other, we will never know. lol

I was prepared to spend $2500 on new rubber and 17" wheels because the 2024 tires all got terrible reviews from everyone. But the 2025s have been fine for me for light offroading. We'll see what happens in the snow.
I have a 2025 FX4 with the bottom pic Goodyears - drove through two blizzards this past winter with them and they were fine.

Omg I’m blind. Or just confused that both are listed. Either way, sweet truck! I love mine and hope yours does right by you too.

What year was your 4runner? I had a 2005 and the reality was that it had plenty of pep, but the transmission tune was absolute garbage that tried it's hardest to not let you experience it. Constantly found myself locking out gears for the sake of drivability.
It was a 2003 & still in good condition. I had it for 13 years. My complaint compared to the Ranger is the trans & not having harsh jumps between gears towing up hills in the Ranger & the extra space. The Ranger just tows better all-around than my 4Runner did. I had Bilstein 5100’s with the OG springs on it. I honestly thought about putting some money into it to drive it for a few more years. It was a great, reliable truck & I know I could get another 100K out of it with general maintenance & replacing things when they wore out. At this point with everyone using smaller engines with turbos and a lot of manufactures using the same parts, buying the Toyota reliability is not what it used to be with the new 4runners & Tacoma’s. I just don’t think they are better than the Fords & Chevies anymore. I think with the new Toyotas they are not the 300k to 500k mile trucks anymore. There is a good podcast on Expedition Portal with Dave Harriton that owns AEV talking about that. I don’t buy & sell cars every few years & I will put over 100k on my truck & plan to keep it. The Ranger is the 1# seller in Australe where it was designed & people are traveling all over the country in them touring & 4whlling in them & they seem to be holding up. It seems like the big difference is just the diesel motors you get in Australia. The 2.3L EcoBoost has been around for about 11 years & not a new motor. I have not driven the 2.7L & wonder if it’s worth the extra cost VS the 2.3L.

Depends on how much you value power from a driving enjoyment standpoint and how much you tow.

For regular towing, most people would agree the larger displacement 2.7L is better than the 2.3L, especially uphill with higher tow weights. More power and torque, the 2.7L is not working as hard as the 2.3L to generate the same power.

Im not sure how big the turbos are on the 2.7L vs. 2.3L, but larger turbos tend to handle heat better under sustained loads and can generate higher boost levels more efficiently (at the expense of slower spool up). With the 2.7L, your splitting the load between two turbos instead of one.

Not suggesting the 2.3L is bad or unreliable, but its all situation and use case dependent as to which option makes more sense, in addition to cost obviously. Just some food for thought.
