How the hell is it going to go though the "RUST BELT" (Not that I know what exactly that is but I have a idea with this thread).... When it was just built a month ago... I can partially understand the potential Rust with all the Salt and Snow up there with them sitting there for a few months but not this where it just been built and only sitting out there for 2 weeks.
Haha, @Sevokevo c'mon Kevin, if it's going from Detroit to Texas, it's going right thru the middle of the country, called the "Rust Belt", where old industries belched smoke and had rusty old steel plants! The rust will just jump off those old smoke stacks onto your shiny truck! 😆 lol...

Yes, I saw those same photos! There has to be something you can do. I would go back to the dealer or call Ford Corporation, try to get some sort of transparency, if there’s anything that should, or can be done. No one should be taking delivery of something like this, in this condition, with all the money we’re putting out for these trucks. I’m positive you’re not the only person to take delivery of a unit like this. They just haven’t looked underneath yet?! Not good Brother
I really like this truck hope the dealer can do something to help.

Last night I sent the question during the live stream that the dealer in Kansas does every Tuesday and he said he has not seen that much of issue pertaining to the rust issue and others have said that all it is was just surface rust and not the kind of rust that would mess up the joints.. maybe we ask more later in the future if more and more people come up front with it.. but by the looks of it.. the rust more or less might not be a issue… however I will still check my truck on this when it comes later this year but I have a feeling I might not have this issue now that they are all shipping so more and more trucks are not going to be sitting in the shipping yard as much as some of the ones that have been produced in the last few months.

The problem is NOT the trucks being driven through salt or sitting in lots. The problem is that the axles and drive shaft are sitting in the elements BEFORE they are installed at MAP. Every other component underneath is brand new, except the surface rust on those two parts.

We all know our new Rangers probably were driven to an open field where they sat for a while. My Ranger had 60 miles on the odometer when I took possession of it. I checked underneath my truck today. My truck must have been driven on a snowy, salty road to wherever it was kept. Make sure you look under your trucks when they arrive at your dealership. I spent a chunk of my day today washing the underside of my Ranger to rid of the salty residue. There is some rust as a result of this. Here are a few of my pics.

But can we confirm that they were installed this way? We have no source stating that these pieces where rusted before they where installed… all we know is they are rusted on the truck.. we can only assume they where like this before they where installed…

idk just how fast this rusts as I live in Texas and don’t have snow experience

There is easily 6-10 months of rust on these parts. And the rest of the truck is so clean you can eat off of it. Logic says that the drive shaft was installed after those parts alone sat outside.

Ford Ranger Make sure you check underneath C44634C0-7DEE-490A-B08E-0F26FD96CD9D
