I had an overnight update.
Things were not alright this morning.
Had a brake warning light on.
Radio was all static
No climate control functionality.

Until I shut it down and restarted.

Anyone else ever have that big of a glitch after an update?

One would think in this day and age updates would be fault free when they hit the consumer

Nah, can’t say I experienced that… my navigation now tells me traffic delays when I first pull out of the driveway. Never did that before.

Mine used to do that until the whole APIM finally died. It took my dealer 25 days to replace it too. I had the lemon lawyer’s number on speed dial. Fortunately they got it replaced and all has been well since. 🤞🏻

When I was shopping for a mid-sized pickup I strongly considered the Canyon AT4, but while considering it GM had pushed some OTA updates that bricked a whole lot of Canyon's and Colorados, so to answer the question quoted here, yes, an awful lot of GM owners had even bigger glitches.

As much as it sucks to see it happen to anyone, at least a quick reboot got it all back in order. That part makes me wonder if the update was interrupted or if the battery was too low or something; first thing I'd check is to see if it rolled back to the previous version or if the update was considered successful.

I still haven’t figured out if I have had an update or not since buying my truck… But really haven’t investigated it much either. Any tips or tricks?

Ford app, Schedule, Updates, shows OTA updates. Center stack as well shows.

Hmmmm.... Checked the app and the truck and not seeing anything. Under the Connectivity section there was a SW version for the SYNC, is that for the vehicle too?

Hmmm, maybe with picking up my truck in June I am all up to date... Time will tell!

Yep , mine did the exact same thing this morning. The update was for the pinched wire in the a-pillar that can cause a fire. No idea how a update will fix that since that is a physical thing. Had a brake fault as well until i restarted the truck. The update , when finished , said that if my visor lights didnt work after update that i had to schedule a repair at the dealer. How odd. They wworked though.

I had an update yesterday for the Visor recall. I tried a remote start with the fob, but it just honked at me. But after the first key start, everything seems OK.

Edit: This was for recall 26S29. After the update, the recall notice no longer shows in the app.
Release notes say, "This update completes Safety Recall 26S29".
I still need to get the 25C41 Side Curtain Recall done.

Mine did the update for the visor recall yesterday. Only thing I noticed is the radio station was defaulted to AM.

It is not abnormal to have some kind of first key cycle glitches after certain modules are updated. Nothing to be worried about, imo.

Picked mine up in late July, also haven't seen any updates yet. If I remember correctly, my Bronco was updated more than once in the first few months I had it (took delivery of that in November of 2021)
