Over the air update last night, wonky first start

Mine did the update for the visor recall yesterday. Only thing I noticed is the radio station was defaulted to AM.

Mine glitched to static nothing else though.

Mine downloaded last night. I got two warnings that said something to the effect of “check your brake system”. Everything went back to normal after restarting though.

I'm thinking the update must set up a check of those A pillar wires for power and/or ground. hence why if the visor lights don't work, its an indication you have a wire issue. Kind of turned our truck into its own self test device.

I don't even have visor lights, but I guess all Rangers have the wiring for it.

Hmmm, maybe with picking up my truck in June I am all up to date... Time will tell!

I picked my truck up end of June. It's a May 2026 build.

No recalls and as far as I can tell it has not had any OTA updates.

Yep, the same thing happened to me today. 4 times in 20 minutes. I was listening to a USB stick when the reboots happened.

Mine got a little weird too. Wouldn't auto start. Beeped at me. Got in the truck and it said no fob detected. Hit the starter button and it started. Than I saw I had an update. Dash setting were changed. Self correct itself.

This issue has been fixed. You will need to reset Sync. If you did it already, you would need to do it again today.
