I hooked up my trailer and took it to a open parking lot to setup the pro trailer back up.

The sticker is placed properly and I made sure the camera was clean. I started the process with the on screen instructions and it would start the calibration.

The problem is it would give a notification that it could not see the trailer and then cancel the process. I must have tried it 20 times. I deleted the trailer and reinstalled it to no avail.

This one has me stumped. Has anyone else run into this? I really don't need it but it's there so why not.

Thanks a bunch.

What are the details about the trailer? Were you trying to calibrate at night? Is the full sticker between 4" and 19" (I think) from the center of the trailer ball? Is the full sticker visible in the rear camera view?

It's a 5x10 ft landscape trailer. Attempt was made in daylight. Yes the sticker is in the proper location. The sticker is clearly visible to the camera. I thought I might put another sticker on the other side of the tongue.

What kind of drop do you have on your hitch. My trailer was slanting upwards towards front pretty significantly with a 2 in drop and couldn't get it to initialize. A 3" & 4" weren't enough so i had to get an adjustable one and it's set at 5"ish. Made my 6x16 utility trailer level and was able to calibrate. Patience and a really big parking lot help a lot too. I remember having to do about a dzn attempts to successfully calibrate.

Never even knew this was an option on my truck, lol. Just back it up if you know how.

Man, takes longer to turn on and get going than to just back trailer manually. It’s slick, but useless for me. I’ve been trailering for decades.

That said, my teenage son dominates with pro backup assist. It’s like a video game.

In answer, it’s been hit or miss for me. Sometimes the system doesn’t recognize my trailer, and like you, can’t figure out any reason why.

Same here. I have a 17' Casita TT and tried numerous times to get it clalibrated. Tried during day, triple checked the stickers, tongue is level, deleted/reinstalled, etc. Just gave up. I've been towing it for 21 years with other vehicles just fine though so I really don't need this high tech gizmo. Frustrating though.

I'll have to check that. I have a weigh safe adjustable hitch. Worth a try. Thanks.

I had to continuously turn in a steering wheel locked out before it would calibrate. Then the samevturning the other direction. Was frustrated too until I did that. My trailer was a 6 x 10 too.

I just calibrated mine. Took a lot longer than expected. In fact I had to go find an open parking lot to drive around in a fixed circle in each direction. Lost the trailer. few times, I think when one of the stickers got hidden by the front wheel jack motor. I presume you can actually see the stickers in your rear view reversing camera the whole time? My stickers were at the far end of the 4-19" range due to plates and bolts on the trailer arm. Not sure it that made it better or worse...

I think I've figured out the problem. When I make the turn the jack blocks the view of the sticker. Did you use two stickers? I think I'm going to try a second sticker on the other side and see if that does the trick. Thanks.

I thought i started in a big enough lot but didn't have enough room for the long ass turns. Went to a bigger lot and zipped through it on the 1st attempt. Need a lot of real estate for the turns.I have a cdl so I can back the trailer up in an s, but I want to know how all the stuff I bought on my truck works. Maybe it would help my wife or daughter but I agree it's not a fast solution if you have the ability to it yourself.

No just one
The stickers are supposed to go on the top of the tongue bar. Not on the sides
