Received my FX 4 Ranger and the rear 12v power outlet in the rear bed is not there. Just the inverter plug outlet. I didn't remove the plate yet to see if there are any wiring for the 12V circuit. Any body else have this happen? I will check tomorrow to see of there are any 12V connections. The fuse panel has a fuse for a rear power point.?

I believe that’s normal for all 2025 model year rangers
Only 2024s have both plugs
I guess when I when I remove the plate tomorrow I'll see if I get lucky. From what I am reading it's not there.

My 2025 doesn't have it, just a 120v. I don't think they added wiring for the 12v, so even if you did add a fuse you probably would need to run wires through.

Yes there is a 12 v source that I might be able to tap into.

Well my 25 had the same issue. Wanted 12v to run a portable fridge back there. With a little investigation found the wires were still populating the connector along the frame. Tapped in and added a 12v outlet, and a usb A and C with voltmeter. Turns on and off with ignition, also powers up if you use the no key radio power on. So in answer to someone else’s comment a ‘24 panel with both will also work..

so care to share which pins? And it looks like the purple black and black wires are the +12 and gnd going in?

how hard was it to put the wires into the connectors? Solder or crimp?

there is a thread on here where a RR owner put in a 24 panel in the bed to get the 12v outlet.

Agreed, some marked up pictures and/or a video would be very helpful. I'm interested in doing this

Ok the connector is a wpt-1084. I bought one from eds parts. That comes with the pins and boots. I verified the fit of the shell.

i ordered some teflon insulated silver tinned wire off eBay and when I get that I’ll wire in my usb port.

thanks to @rikairving we know that violet is +12 and black is ground.

Hopefully I didn’t get dyslexic on the labels

Wouldn't the dc Inverter require 12 volts from the battery back to the bed?

If so what would stop us from pulling power from its source? And is it attached to an oem upfitter switch .

Ideally I would like to pull 12v and use it for bedlighting plus a couple of outlets...

The quickest way to get 12 V for bed lighting is to remove the inverter outlet plate then remove the left side bed light that comes with the bed remove the two bolts that holds the light housing and reach in through the inverter outlet plate space and squeeze the two remaining tabs to remove the light housing. From there you can tap into the harness for 12 Volts. When you press the bed light switch in you truck it will activate you added light s along with the original bed lights. There are more professional ways of doing this however if you protect the wires with heat shrink and you should be fine.

I have a 24 Lariat and it does have both the 12V and 120 plugs in the cab and in the bed. the 120 volt plugs have never worked, the service department ssays both the plugs are bad, hummmm
and that the plugs are opn nationial backorder, this has been going on for more than a year, serv guy says they probably will never get them, there ate 2 different fuses and both are good. I even said both the plugs are bad at the same time, how about checking the onboard inverter to see if it is good, he said the tech did that, kind of suspisous that both plugs failed together..........

I'm sure you know this. The ignition has to on and engine running to get current to the receptacle. You can't check the circuit with the engine off. You will not get a reading.
