RR R Button stopped working - Easy fix!

Mine just did it today, also like a lot of others mine was like 780 miles.

R mode stopped working for me at ~750 miles and came back without any interaction from me. I'm now at ~2650 miles and the button did not work this morning. I did get a message on the dash saying "my mode not available." I don't remember having a message pop up before.

Anyone know what parameters that would make R mode not available?

My R button quit working today.
Good to know the fix is easy, but still irritating.

Curious now how many others have ran into this.

Mine just quit working yesterday at around 750 miles. My apple CarPlay keeps flashing and shutting my radio off every 30 seconds as well. Both just started happening.

Mine just stopped working today ironically. Anyone know if the fix has been addressed? Mines going in on Friday for some paint repairs when I purchased last week and FP Tune. Already emailed them to add to the list.

Odds are it will come back within a few re-starts. Mine came back the next day.
From what I know it does not leave an error code or leave in trace of the malfunction for the dealer to do anything about it. It just seems to randomly come and go. Seems most only see happen a once in while not like regular occurrence for anyone that I have seen reported on here.

My solution was to stop using the R button. It's a neat gimmick and has some value, but I haven't really thought about it in months.

I think my issue is that you can't easily revert to your normal/previous mode without a restart. Kinda a silly reason I guess, but if I have to fiddle with the settings anyway, might as well get used to doing it on the fly instead of relying on a button that likes to stop working randomly.

Just sharing my thoughts. Still hope Ford releases an update to resolve the issue, but until then... meh.

Mine did it today for the 2nd time on my way to trivia. Was annoyed and shut truck off and restarted and it immediately did it again. So I ignored it, drove off and set my sport mode, steering, suspension, and exhaust modes, and turned off AS/S. Realized how annoying it was to manually change those things. Seriously spoiled. Then when I started the truck up from leaving trivia night my display asked if I wanted to start in Sport mode again. I ignored and hit the R button and it worked again. I swear, the more complicated these trucks get, the more that goes wrong. I put persistent memory in our products all the time, how difficult is it to do that for vehicles when the industry has been doing it for years?

Yes mine did it as well. Rebooted on its own in 3-4 days. It did recall my settings so that is weird.

My 24 RR “R” button randomly stopped working this morning on my way to work. Being frustrated since I still only have 700 miles on it, I searched the issue on other ford forums. Apparently all of the Raptor models have issues with this dating back a couple years ago with the F150 and also the Bronco Raptor.

The fix is very simple and relatively quick. Unhook the negative terminal of the battery and let it sit for a bit. I left mine off for 30 minutes, others have mentioned 15 minutes to an hour. This may all be personal preference but 30 minutes did the trick for me.

Mine just stopped working. I have 5500 miles I have the tune on mine. I will do this thank you.

Add me to the list...mine quite working at 500 miles. I'll give it a day or two to reset then pull the negative battery terminal. I would note, too, that on the preceding drive I got a "key not detected" message on my screen even though the truck had started...I checked my pocket and found my key fob...looked at the screen again and the message was gone....proceeded to drive away without issue. Related?

Mine is at 2800 miles, didn’t work this morning, I’ll wait a few days before a battery reboot.

Yup, mine was dead at purchase. Learned the fix from a Youtube video. Hopefully Ford can squeeze a fix in on a future OTA update.
