From following this it seems like this is next to the final push. Imo ford made a pretty good counter offer and the Union needs to bend a little. But this hurting f150 sales is gonna really turn the pressure up. I hope this is the final straw for both sides and it works out.

I'm taking this as a sign that things between Ford and the union could be resolved quicker, because the stakes are higher all around.

Even with members still working and contributing dues, the strike fund can't last forever. The UAW has to balance their resources against 3 automakers at once. If they're dialing up the pressure on one, they are shortening the amount of time they can exert pressure on all.

I’ve NEVER purchased a car brand new in my entire life. First time ordering a car brand new and I’m on the same boat. Damnit.
You are not alone sir! My newest car ever was 6 years old. I finally decide that I've lived frugally enough to deserve something nice that I don't really "need" and here I am.

The longer this drags out the more harm the automakers and auto workers will be damaged.

There are plenty of non union products available for purchase and once people have purchased them instead, it'll be hard to get them to come back. This hurts both parties, so dragging this out is not a good thing.

To your last point, there couldn’t be a better time for both sides for this to happen in some ways than now. With the new Tacoma not being ready, the only mid size that is actually shipping right now is the Frontier. But the longer it drags on, the more time the Tacoma has to get on lots. I bet Toyota wishes they had the Tacoma ready about six months earlier because they’d be absolutely cleaning up right now.

One thing nobody seems to be mentioning is Ford has laid off 1-2 thousand workers because of the strikes. When the strike ends, they would have to rehire that many people and get them trained back up for full production again. This may be a ripple effect that lasts another 1-2 years.

I hate to say it but after seeing this today, I see more trucks made south of the border! Been to Monterrey and saw huge brand new appliance plants there!

I would work for free if it would speed up my delivery. Not a fan of these

It depends. Did they say who they were laying off? I only heard numbers, not what roles where affected.

I’m reliving my Bronco order experience all over again but with a twist.
