Long story short, I had a fender bender back in January which was covered by my insurance and cost them a whopping €18k before taxes. The roads were all clear and good on the way to work but a little section of backroad at the end of the trip wasn't treated with salt so I started slipping on an ice spot on the shit BFG tires into some (thankfully loose) concrete barrier blocks.
The dealer literally replaced everything with a little scratch to it. (But also a headlight, rim, leaking Fox shock 2 months later etc) Good for me.

But, they also replaced the transmission crossmember which apparently arrives new in 3 parts and should be welded. The old one had a small edge bent, I wouldn't have mind if they didn't replace this part but hey, it was "free" so why not. The tech assured me he welded it better than factory (Spoiler: he did not)

Look and shiver about how badly a Ford dealer fucked this one up. I was literally getting nauseous when I saw this.

Not even welded at the top, welding wire all over the place, piss poor "welds". I even suspect this would be a no go at the yearly inspection over here.
I've asked for my old crossmember back and I'll be replacing it myself. JFC...

At that point I would have asked the insurance company to buy the car, then just go buy a new RRaptor. What a joke.

😲

Was the tech chewing bubble gum, on their phone, and talking about how demure they are as well? Yikes!

That's pretty crappy. Curious as to what the "shit tires" are that you mention? Do they put different tires on the car in Belgium other than the KO3 we get here in the states?

KO2 if I'm not mistaken but I could be wrong.
BFG sucks on wet or icy roads. Experienced it before on my Navara, and now again on the RR. In 4A it's okay-ish though but in 2H it's dangerous as hell. Imho... Had General Grabbers before and those were like twice as good in the rain.

These BFGs are coming off if I decide to keep this truck for any length of time.

They're my most hated tire, by far.

Interesting how different people see these tires. I love the KO3; have been great in any condition, ice, snow, rain, sand, mud, rocky off road trails. Driving for the conditions, I haven't seen any issues. Can't please everyone I guess covers it.

What is most concerning about those welds is that the body shop supervisor must have signed off on it….. You need to complain to them and to Ford corporate, if you haven’t already, and post an online review with pictures (for example Google Reviews) for other customers to see. You should annotate the pics with circles or arrows highlighting the crap welds, with text descriptions. And find a different dealer.

FYI - here in the USA, for ANY body or collision repairs, an independent shop with good credentials will do a better job and will guarantee the repairs for life. I personally would never ever choose a dealer for this kind of work. Of the three Ford dealers near me, only one has an “in house” body shop, the others send the vehicles to independent body shops, which is the way it should be!

I had the bed reinforcements added a year ago to my RR, the dealers were all clueless and could not even quote me accurate or reasonable costs - a local body shop did it perfectly, affordably and with minimal delay….

OMG, that has "endangerment law suit" written all over it. You're not accepting that horrible welding job on a new-ish vehicle are you?

If I saw that, my politeness would drop by a quarter mile at the dealership.
