So the CSP listing the dates that coincide with the end of Job 1 is not evidence enough?
Maybe for has not reinforced but used thicker metal, ot additional welds or something similar???

Hum so if that truly the case, which I would assume so, are the ones before that date just SOL and have to be updated at owner’s expense or would there be a recall

Updated side rail structure on 09/15 build confirmed. The radiused corner is a big improvement. The sheet metal in the area appears to be a tad heavier than previous.

I’m new to this forum. I picked up my 2024 Ranger last Thursday, ordered it a few months ago. It was built on Sept. 16. I have been very concerned about this J brace issue. When I picked up my Ranger I ordered the Load Reinforcement bracces. I had to pay an “emergency” fee and not sure when they will arrive. I ran a couple of cameras up the box and I was frustrated because I could NOT see that piece with the cutout at the 90 degree angle. Looking into his forum and others more, it appears FORD changed the way the built the box on or about Sept. 12 and so the current Load Reinforcement brace doesn’t fit and maybe isn’t even required. The parts listing says “required for vehicles built before Sept. 12”. Nobody at the dealership appears to know what I am talking about. I will try to confirm somehow with FORD. My vehicle was built on Sept. 16. If you look up in the box from underneath you can see where that “notched” part should be. I guess if you see a “solid” corner, your unit does not require the j brace. That is just my deduction after reading various posts and check things out visually

Thanks. That's good to know. Somehow the parts.ford.com parts by vin show a 9/4 date, the door jamb sticker says 9/24 and the window sticker has a blend date of 9/3. All over the place.

I don't know how I got the updated thing or even which build date to believe exactly.

While I'm here I'll add some fuel to this fire. I've contacted Ford chat twice now and got the same response both times. I gave them my VIN and they said my build date was 09/10/24 (so before the 09/12/24 date) but that my VIN doesn't show up for Customer Service Program 23P22. Both times I explicitly asked if that means I don't need J-Braces to install a bed cap and both times they said that's correct.
