Is it normal for there to be an 8# recommended tire pressure difference between the 255/65 R18 tires I have on my 2.3 Lariat (30#) and the 255/70 R17 tires I saw on a You Tube video for a 2.3 XLT (38#)? Mine does not have the Off Road Pkg - but a sticker I saw for a 2.3 Lariat with Off Road Pkg had same 30# number - so don't think it is the Off Road Pkg that makes a difference. Mine was delivered from dealer with pressures ranging from 34# to 38# on the four tires - so just trying to insure I have the right pressure.

Umm. The pressures Ford recommends are in s sticker inside the driver's door frame. Just use that or RTFM .

That's assuming you are using the tires that came with the truck. Tires will have the recommended pressure on the sidewall. My '21 with stock 265/60/18 says 35psi on the sticker.

They inflate them higher than normal for transport.

I have a 24 lariat fx4 with tow package and have had the same experience. It came from the dealer with 36# but the door sticker says 30#. I’ve tried both and found it didn’t seems to make difference except in fuel economy. Higher was better and the ride was the same.

I trust the tire manuf. More than ford. It's a suggestion. More air is generally better. Fuel and tire runs cooler but ride can be firmer, also more responsive in handling. I run 34 to 36#. Off roading in my jeep it's 18# but that's for traction and softer ride.

My 2.7 Lariat was delivered with tires at 40-41 PSI. I hate to say that I haven't aired them down to the rated pressure yet, lol.

Tires are commonly overinflated for transport, and even on dealership lots. When test driving, it is advisable to bring a gauge with you. Some are appreciably over-inflated.

When driving vehicles before buying this one, every single one of them was over-inflated; a Jeep even to the tire's maximum pressure. LOL

My Ranger Raptor was over-inflated, as well.

Wait until the morning, when it's hopefully between 60 and 70 degrees, and check your pressures, then. At that point, if they don't match the label inside the door, adjust them immediately.

Same here, FX4 at 30psi. Maybe it's for better traction because FX4 is considered 'off road' vehicle?
