2025 Ranger - Bed 12 Volt Outlet - Final Update

For 2025 the Ranger no longer includes a 12 volt outlet in the bed. Has anyone added one yet? Is the plug still on the harness? Inquiring minds want to know.

That's correct. I'm more curious if the plug is still on the harness. If so I can just order the jumper harness and panel off a 2024; if not I'll going to have to wire it. I need a 12VDC connection in my bed, I use a 12VDC refrigerator and need to power it.

It showed the wiring isn't at the plug panel, it doesn't show if the plug for the jumper is still on the bed wiring harness. This is my question and I can't seem to find a diagram clear enough in the parts catalog. I'd like to know before my truck gets here...

The outlet only runs when the truck is running. If you are powering a fridge, you probably want to have an aux battery setup for it.

The refrigerator has a built in battery which charges sufficiently while I'm running down the road. I've been using it since I got my 2021 Ranger which has the 12VDC plug in the bed.

The simplest solution is to get a 110v AC to 12v DC converter adapter. $11.00 + on Amazon. If you need both 110v AC in the bed and 12v dc, add a power strip to the Bed and use one or more spots with the 12v adapter.

Not the cleanest solutions, but works for me.

No, the 2025 comes with a 400w 120VAC inverter, but the refrigerator works much better off 12VDC as that is it's native voltage. I also use the inverter for other loads in the cab and running both would overload it.

I've been looking at solutions for this for a little bit.

I will likely do an auxiliary 100aH behind the rear seat and run a Redarc between that and the starter battery. From the auxiliary battery, run a 12v to the bed (where it was in the '24) model, but also an anderson plug for a portable solar panel. This could let me run a fridge indefinitely in the right conditions.

I can testify that my 2024 STX has no harness behind the blank panel in the bed and, short of running wires to the battery with an in-line fuse I don't see any 12VDC options for my truck...wish there was!

Im not sure what added value it will be, however:

I have ordered my XL, last days of october 2024, with the truck being 2025 already. In the offer that I signed 12v bed outlet was included, yet in a received truck it was missing.

There was also no harness, at least directly under the pannel when I removed it to check.

I have placed a claim as I did not get any information, nor signed any statement agreeing for change of spec.

I am located in Europe, so it is euro dealership resolving the claim. Currently they are investigating on what can be done to add the outlet.

I can keep you posted on this.

Dealer just told me they just received the parts and I can come for installation.
Apparently they ordered a factory panel.
I can't make it in July, so proposed begining of August.

Case closed for me, Dealer installed 12v OEM plug in bed last friday. They connected to trailer hitch harness. Everything works fine.
