Finally, RCI released a proper frame-mount rock slider for the 6th gen Ranger… but unfortunately, it doesn’t fit the Raptor trim. Really hoping they bring out a Raptor-specific version soon.

I’ve had great experiences with RCI in the past—my 5th gen 4Runner ran their full aluminum RCI skids and rock sliders, and they took plenty of abuse without issue. That’s why I’m a bit disappointed in their product development direction here. Honestly, it feels backwards—Raptor owners are the ones more likely to tackle tougher trails and push their trucks harder, so sliders and skids are even more critical. Yet RCI either doesn’t fully account for the structural differences on the Raptor (extra frame reinforcements, unique upgrades, etc.) or, worse, is choosing to focus on non-Raptor models while leaving us behind.

I was really looking forward to RCI armors for my Raptor. Fingers crossed - I hope they recognize the demand soon and roll out a proper Raptor version soon.

They are currently prototyping the skids and sliders for my Raptor. There are significant geometry differences in the frame between the regular Ranger and the Raptor. They had to do some modifications and will be available for the Raptor soon. RCI has been great to work with, and the intent was to release both at the same time, but they are doing the right thing by making sure fitment is perfect.

Awesome! Glad to hear that RCI is working on Raptor variations!

Plus it seems like Ford did spend some time and materials to reinforce frames for Raptors over regular Rangers. :like:

The Rocky Road sliders are mounted to the same place as the factory running boards. They will work for most people and will likely support the weight of the truck if they drag over a rock or take light hits; however, you run the risk of bending the sheet metal parts under the truck.

With that, RCI is the first company offering an actual, fully frame-mounted slider for the RR in the US. You would have to have an impact that could bend the entire frame of the truck to ruin these. They are built for people who intend to do heavy-duty rock crawling. You can see from the photo how overbuilt these are.

Those look sweet but a bit narrow for a side step which my family uses. :(

I wish they had a couple braces at the right angles there, that would help a lot. These do look good and are nicely tucked in though! Just add some bracing at those corners and get a Raptor version going!

Any idea when they are thinking they will release them for the RR? Need to put money aside and be ready! Cant stand these factory steps.
