Ford parts websites, including levitown, wanted $10-$17 for shipping 4 bolts that weigh less than 6 ounces. I thought that was pretty insane.

Not of good structural quality, at least in my area.

Yep! (linked above too) M6 (1.0 pitch) x 16mm. If you search the ford part number for them, it shows you the bolt size.

I bit the bullet and paid $20 for 4 bolts. Hope I only need 4!

Thank you - I just ordered the bolts from Bolts and Nuts and the bed steps from Amazon. This was the one option I had remorse about not being a factory installed option on my truck.

Just ordered them a few minutes ago.
I got my steps installed. Yes, it was a struggle. Decided not to wait for dealer. That was a mistake 😕. I of course forgot the screw under the fenderwell trim and had to take it back apart! I could only get 3 bolts in. The hole where the hook was did not line up. Did anyone else have that issue? I like the results. My suggestion, before you start make sure you have something to loosen the bumper bolts. That was a big delay for me. Didn't have enough wrench/torque. Ended up using my legs to loosen the bolts. Put pads in a folding chair. The bumper sat fine there.

My bolts come today. But I more than likely will not have any time to install until the weekend after next.

Where did you have the alignment issue exactly? Was it on the brace of the step not lining up with mounting points?

The bracket comes with a hook and a tab in opposite ends. The hook catches in the support beam. The tab goes to the rear also in a support beam. The hole at the hook does not line up.

that stupid screw under the fender well trim.

i thought the step bracket was not aligning on mine but i just didn't have the step in properly. it kind of catches when sliding it in so i just had to wiggle it while aligning and then it went in right.

I may try it again, but all 3 of the other holes aligned.

you tried it on the other side, in case they are swapped, or the seller accidentally sent two of the same part?

@superj , do these bolts look right? M6x16 (16.9oz water for reference) they seem small to me, but I also haven't see the running board bolts out of the truck either.

They look small to me. There are 2 on each side of the truck already.
