does anyone know if the start stop function can be disabled with Forscan? dealer says no but can we believe anything a 25 year old service advisor who sold stereo's a month ago says. for years we have been told that these things can't be defeated as that is the way the national fuel average was tested, and just like that my 23 Lariat did not have start stop and my window sticker gave me a tiny credit for the elimination because Ford did not have the parts o include . I tried to plug a night light into the 120 volt outlets in the truck, some say that that tiny draw will cause the truck to not shut off, but neither of the 2 120 V outlets work. dealer says both of the outlets are bad, whats the chances of both outlets being bad? well I having waiting 4 months for the dealer to get them, he says they are on national backorder, for all these months? they look just like the same outlets on the F150 hmmmm. on my 22 Lariat I could defeat the start stop simply by unplugging the wire jack on the negative battery terminal with no problems effecting anything else but that does not seem to work on the 24.

Yes it can, check the big FORscan thread.

ETA- some of the guys may be testing the functionality, but I believe it can be done.

Disabling auto start stop in forscan traditionally is done by disabling the battery state monitor system. On previous generations of vehicles this was fine, on this generation of vehicle it makes the dash light up like a Christmas tree. The 4Dtech solution is the correct way to do it now. For 100 dollars and about 5 minutes of your time it is well worth it. It also provides a quick way to revert to a working start stop condition, something the forscan trick cannot do.

So don’t you have to switch to Sport mode every time you start it? Kinda like switching the auto start stop every time?
Yep every time you start the truck. If you don’t…..bingo, start stop is engaged.??

Yes, but doesn’t SPORT mode do the same? Doesn’t it shut off when you turn the truck off?
