I bought the side badge lights. The installation was easy enough, but the LED strip is too long. At some point, I need to pull the covers back off and block the light that is behind the panel.

If you want a 3 light setup to fit in the upper portion of the grill where it looks like Ford should have put them from the factory, there aren’t any exact fit on the market. The F150 LEDs are the better quality lights, but not the best fitting without sanding them down.

I have tried several different sets and do like F150 LEDs the best but 100% agree, they need to come out with a perfect fit solution. We see a lot of post on here with these same complaints about them.
I got the Signature Lux lights and I'm happy with them. (I paid the shop I bought my tonneau cover from to install them.)

They ended up doing the battery connection method of install instead of using an aux switch, which I was totally fine with. I was going to have them on all the time anyway. I just told them to read the instructions and install it whatever way they were more comfortable with.

No doubt they do fit better, mostly because they are quite a bit smaller than the F150 LED lights.
I actually had those installed on my truck prior to my F150 LED lights.
I was looking for a brighter cleaner light, more of an OEM style light.

Right now as far as I know, for lights that can be mounted into the traditional 3 pockets at the top of the grill for a traditional or signature Raptor look.

Comparing the two since I have had both on my truck.
My take away was.

LUX lights or whatever brand they are marketed under. I felt like they fit really pretty well, still not a custom built perfect fit but as far as fitment, they look the best when off.
Very stealth look, meaning when off you don’t see them.
‘Where I didn’t care for them was when they were on, just seemed sort of dim, and I really did not like seeing all the LED dots in the lights.

‘The F150-LED lights is higher quality light but does not fit in the grill near as well, ant least not right out of the box, but as mentioned can be modified to fit/work. Which I still need to take mine back out and try some of those shaving them down modifications for myself.

Currently
I still have the F150-LED lights installed on my truck, without any modifications other then I had to remove the double sided tape to get them jammed in there. Happy with light quality when on, as well as the look when on.

Still hopeful there will be a custom exact fit solution come to market at some point. I still wanting and searching for a high quality (Oem level) kit. If it does I am sure I will swap mine out again.

These are worse then I expected. I was going to just mod and make work but even the connector is to big to fit. I'd have to cut the cable.

I'm still waiting as well. Let us know if you ever find something better.

I removed the grill and drilled the holes from the backside of the grill. I saw a "how to" video on youtube and learned it was only a 10 minute job to remove the grill. I doubt you could drill the large holes needed from the front without causing damage that the lights may not hide.

But you still have to fish the cable from the front though. How did you get connector through it wont fit the "nook" to hit the back even if i drilled hole from back.

I bought those also, wound up taking the badges off and used thin weatherstrip between the badges and body. Keeps the light from leaking out.

I wish I would have took pics, it would have made it easier to explain.
I used a 7/16" drill bit and I reemed the hole a little extra and you still have to force the connector through the pocket to reach the hole. You also have 2 layers to drill through. The actual piece with the 3 pockets is just a trim piece held on by a few screws on the back side of the grill and you have to drill through the grill as well.

I’m going to have to do that too. I went back and taped the light above the badge; no change in the front edge bleeding light.

I think i understand. I just cant believe the giant pug they slapped on this. I'm debating if to return or just do a full mode. sand down housing and then cut the wire and resolder once passed thru.

I'm a little late to the party on this topic. But I just installed the F150LED lights to my RR. I agree you can't go in (drill or mount) from the front if you want the OEM look without damaging the grill. The wire connector diameter (and the light itself for that matter) is just too wide. I inserted my lights from the back of the grill. As mentioned, you can take off the grill (seriously, takes only 10 minutes - see the YT videos) but what I'm not seeing done by others is that the actual top strip you mount the lights into can be removed from the grill. I don't have the part number, but I included a picture of the plastic strip. (BTW, the blue tape was a precaution to not scratch the plastic.) It is attached to the actual grill with 6(?) phillips head screws and are simple to remove. Once unscrewed, the strip of plastic, which runs the full width of the grill but is only about 2 inches high, can be easily detatched from the grill. The part is much easier to work with and if you damage it, can easily (and cheaply) be replaced. The sockets for the lights can be reamed out from the back and you never have to modify the grill from the front and risk damaging the look. This process took me about 3 hours, but only because I'm super careful about this type of work. It really is easy. Good luck!
