Direct, accurate and to the point..... thanks. This fits well with this morning's discussion with my friendly service dept manager. They also assure me this will never cause me an issue. Relationships matter. And fwiw, the prior ford performance tune for the 2.3 was a ford collaboration with Livernois. It would not surprise me if this offering also involved Livernois. Buying the Livernois version I believe also gave you the opprtunity to adjust other parameters, eg speed limiter, etcThe Ford Performance warranty reads to me similar to the DINAN warranty for BMWs.
If you have a failure in the first 36 months/36K miles, and it can be attributed to the Ford Performance tune... then the Ford Performance warranty will cover you. If you have a failure and it can NOT be attributed to the tune, then the Ford Factory warranty will cover you.
If after 36 months/36K miles you have a failure and it can be attributed to the Ford Performance tune... then you are NOT covered. If you have a failure and it can NOT be attributed to the tune, then the Ford Factory Warranty will still cover you (and I assume this would be the same for the Ford Extended Warranty).
Apple to apple comparison with an aggressive launch, I'll bet a cold soda that you will readily double those numbers. There is a ton of torque management in modern vehicles to avoid drivetrain stress.I say .2 off 0-60 and .3 off 1/4
According to Ford Performance from an email this morning;
RE: 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor Performance Calibration
Good morning Jeffery,
You are able to purchase the tune from any Ford dealership as well as any of our distributors, as long as you do not live in California. The tune is still waiting to be approved due to the CARB regulations there, so we do not offer the Buy It Now button for that reason.
Thank you,
Eric Pasteiner

*****More to come regarding warranty from Ford Performance and Ford Warranty Division. Questions have been asked regarding OEM and Extended Ford Warranty. Waiting on response now. Most likely won’t here back until Monday from either but will post as soon as I do.

Ordered mine from Lethal as well this evening.Ordered from Lethal. 679.25 all in!
I believe it‘s all up to CARB to approve or not. I can’t speculate regarding their motives and decisions but Ford Performance has submitted it for their approval.Does this mean that it will eventually be approved in California as well? Just going to take longer because of regulations?
Thanks,

Added link to Livernois tune for 2024 explorer st 3.0. Much more versatile for same list price. Worth considering (if and when they get RR tune) for those that want options and flexibility. They may be more open to coming up with RR tune if someone near them offers up theirs for tune development

Oddly enough, they didn’t mention the shipping insurance I paid. Welp, guess I’m insuredOrdered mine from Lethal as well this evening.
‘I skipped $30 something shipping insurance all in was 625.50.
With coupon code LABOR for the extra 10% off.
It was a little check box tab thing that was checked by default, it let me uncheck it and get rid of the fee. It was sort of hidden in the checkout screen.Oddly enough, they didn’t mention the shipping insurance I paid. Welp, guess I’m insured![]()

California Air Research Board (CARB) is not an actual legislative body but they must approve anything to do with air and environmental quality that comes before the California legislature. Is it an uphill battle, most assuredly;

We called them the SS Air Nazi’s. I haven’t lived there since the early to mid 70’s stationed at March AFB. It was bad then and much worse now.![]()
Do you have to have the Deal install for the warranty or can you do it yourself?
Went through the same thing with my dealer. Rolled my eyes and left. Would like to use Ford Pass points since I have 88k so it would pay for half of it. But Lethal is cheaper and just find a certified shop or a Ford dealer that isn’t a moron do it.I went to the dealership where I purchased my RRaptor from today and they looked at me like I had 3 heads when I asked if they could purchase and install this. Told me they could not even order it nor install it because they are not a Ford Performance dealership and that I would have to call around to find one. Said they weren’t even sure if one existed in the entire state of NC. Their explanation was that the interface on the computer they use is completely different than the Ford Performance software. Not sure why it would be difficult to plug this up but that’s what I was told.
Definitely, launch control would be fun.Wait, they don't up the speed limit? Ugh. I get that is because of the stock tires, but is 120mph too much to ask? /whining
You know what would be cool though? A track mode that let's you do one max top speed run every once in a while (like 1 every 5 minutes) like at a drag strip, the salt flats, or a runway. All the traction/launch goodies for straight line acceleration kick on, everything else off, and unrestricted speed for a couple miles. Man... that would be nice.
