The PDF you linked states tire/gear size can be adjusted. Diagnostic Feature 3, letter G.
Ranger/Hobb seems to like spreading all sorts of misinformation on here...
Take what he says with a grain of salt from now on!

Anyone have experience driving their raptor on winter roads? I’m a little paranoid to get the tune due to how much more power and fishtailing into a ditch in the winter. I got my Raptor this summer so have not driven it in winter yet.

I get it, I’m just listing what they or its subsidiaries are listing. I’m just the messenger not the author.

PDF is what they listed for the calibration tool. However, I’ll trust them to know what they’ve listed beyond the PDF. Yes, it’s conflicting but it’s more about which came first, the chicken or the egg so to speak.

Calibration tool came first, actual availability with tune afterwards. All things being created equal; I’d say the PDF is old school and the actual product description is new school for this tune.???

You'll be fine. Doesn't matter what the power number is it matters how you drive. People drove 600 hp mustangs with winter tires just fine.

Added to wish list - doesn’t appear it is quite available for purchase yet.
I ordered my performance tune from Steeda a few days ago and just got an email saying that it has shipped... shouldn't take long since Steeda is located in Florida just a few hours from me .

From everything I read so far, the 5 yr powertrain warranty is at least compromised with the tune. But if you run this tune for the first 3 years with 0 issues, how would it magically cause a powertrain issue in year 4 or 5, when it had proven to be safe for the first 3? Just a thought.

Warranties in my opinion are safety blankets. I spent a small fortune on my extended warranty on my Expedition and I have yet brought that thing in. If you don't beat the $hit out of your truck you should be fine.

Fatigue. The same way a factory-tuned engine can suddenly fail after 3 years. Parts wear over time. Extra boost/power will almost certainly accelerate that process.

As stated by Ford, the 5 year powertrain warranty is unaffected by this tune…
If there is a tune related powertrain failure within the first 3 years or 36k miles (such as a turbo hose blowing from increased boost pressure) then the Ford Performance warranty covers it.

If there is a non tune related powertrain failure after 3 years/36k miles but within 5 years/60k miles (such as the 4x4 actuator on your transfer case failing) then your standard vehicle powertrain warranty still covers it.

This has been stated about 20+ times now people… If you still don’t understand how the warranty with this tune works then I recommend you pick up the phone and call Ford Performance yourself!

What you wrote seems to be contradictory. Yes, the 5 years is still in place for non tune-related issues. However, it is deemed tune related, you may be SOL. Had you not installed the tune, anything in the powertrain should have been covered for the full 5 years. This sounds like the 5 year warranty is somewhat compromised to me.

Yep, all good.

But where this gets fuzzy is when a part that is directly affected by the power output of the engine fails. Clearly the 4x4 actuator isn't affected by that, so there would be no question that it's still covered (if it's even covered at all in the powertrain warranty - seems like that's electrical and covered in 3/36, but I digress...).

In a previous discussion, I used the transmission input shaft as an example (because I had an actual warranty claim on a previously owned vehicle with this problem). Four years and 50k miles down the road, you're heading up a hill, hear a pop, and all of a sudden you lose power. Engine is still running and revs just fine, but the truck just keeps slowing down. You have it towed to a Ford dealership, and they call you a few days later to inform you that your input shaft is broken, and that you'll need a new transmission which will cost approximately $6500. Of course, you remind them it should be covered under warranty, but they remind you of your handy-dandy ProCal tuner mounted on the dash and state unequivocally, "The Ford Performance tune allowed the engine to create a level of torque that exceeded the rated torque handling capacity of the 10R60 transmission, thus voiding your 5/60 powertrain warranty."

Unless you've got a team of ASE certified mechanics to perform transmission forensics and another team of lawyers to "prove" the input shaft failed because of a manufacturing flaw that only manifested itself after years of usage which had nothing to do with the extra power your engine has been making during that time, you're going to be a whole lot better off just paying the bill to get it replaced. Of course, Ford Motor Company knows that you DON'T have access to these resources and knows that they will bury you in legal filings if you fight them.

So yeah, "As stated by Ford, the 5 year powertrain warranty is unaffected by this tune..." Good luck with trying to get them to fulfill an actual claim on that warranty on any part that creates or transmits the extra power created by the tune.

If you still don't understand how the corporate legal system works, I suggest you pick up the phone and consult with an attorney.
