I just released my order from Lethal. I'm going to wait a bit to decide if I'm going to add it down the road. I want it but my plan is to keep this truck long term and I got a great deal on my extended warranty that I don't want to give up until we get some real world service interactions going.

Mine shipped from first batch, should be here Thursday. I ordered from lethal because it was 10% off 695... To the people saying others had the same discount, they didn't. Will do a racebox 0-60 before the flash and after the flash.

For those who live in the one state not included in the 49 state availability for the tune (California), I was encouraged by two things as it relates to the California Air Resource Board (CARB). They do certify tunes when they determine the modification won't have an impact on increased emissions. In particular, my wife drives a '22 Ford Explorer ST. It has a nearly identical 3.0 L TT Ecoboost motor that puts out 400hp and 415 lb-ft. I would guess the Ford factory set up as an SUV are slightly differenent when compared with the Ranger Raptor and the Bronco Raptor version of that motor. I'm guessing things like exhaust routing, oil dry sump, etc. are different. Ford offers a 50-state legal tune for the Exporer ST, which bumps it to 430hp (+30) and 467 lb-ft (+52) - for $825: https://performanceparts.ford.com/part/M-9603-EX30

I do not have this tune, but I'm glad I could.

On the CARB site database, there are many tunes and engine mods that are approved for various vehicles, from a variety of manufacturer's. I had an APR tune on an Audi TTS that added 60HP and around 65 ft-lb. It was CARB approved. I would guess that Ford has already submitted their application for review for the Ranger Raptor/Bronco Raptor Tune. Despite the fact that it bumps hp by 50 and tq by over 100, I would guess that emissions are in-line with the lesser upgrade the ST benefits from. The CARB list is here: https://ww2.arb.ca.gov/applications/aftermarket-parts-database

I plan to attend the Raptor Rally in Utah in a couple weeks where I will try to seek out a Ford employee who can tell me two things:
  1. has the exception request been submitted to the state of CA
  2. if it takes a while for the approval, will they honor the 20% discount offered to Raptor Rally attendees.

Don't see it on the C.A.R.B list:

I don't know if this was on here yet or not so excuse me if it was. If this is true then good luck with your new tune and new warranty rules, I'm out of the conversation. Im not going to be greedy and I'mnot accusing anyone of being greedy........

Those are the type of videos I ignore because they're click bait and mainly for the YouTube algorithm to direct potential clickers their way.

Yeah, I had watched his videos for a while but recently changed to do not show me his content. It's always all over the place and filled with inaccuracies. Not saying he is wrong about what he is saying, just it is often hard to parse what is real and what is not.

Unrelated, I just spoke with my local service manager and they will install the tune for $100. I asked about his take on warranty and while not enforceable, he said he feels he would have to see proof the tune caused it to not honor powertrain warranty work. He even talked about how he has a Whipple tune on his Bronco with a larger intercooler and offered to let me take it for spin. He also said since these vehicles are now basically modems on wheels it doesn't matter what type of tune you put in. Once applied, Ford knows you put something on it, even if you remove it later.

Again misinformed and speculation. 50ft lbs of horsepower. We’ve already gone thru this with Ford Performance supervision.

It pays to read the entire thread. Go back a several pages and read what was provided from Ford Performance Supervisor. He’s completely misinformed and you’re simply following suit.???

Wait, we get a tune covered with 3 year, 36k mile warranty, and everyone is freaking out about it not being covered by extended warranties?

I’m just thrilled I can add power with any sort of coverage. I was fully ready to install a whipple tune or a jb4 before this was announced.

Just got the tune installed on my Wife's Braptor. For what it's worth, the Shop Foreman was adamant that because it is a tune from Ford that it does not affect the factory or ford extended warranty plans. Either way I was going to roll the dice and install it and rely on relationships i have with some of the local dealers worse case. Plan to install the Ranger Tune Monday...
