Had the FP tune installed many months ago.
It wakes up the truck, especially in Sport Mode.

Raptor Dyno Sheet Pro Dyno.jpeg

I thought the R-Raptor ran good before but now it runs great.
I've just finished a period of around town driving totaling 1248 miles and the mileage shows 18.7. On the road highway mileage is 20.9 depending on traffic and how heavy the foot gets.
I think it was a very worthwhile upgrade.
See dyno sheet below that shows the rear wheel HP and Torque.
384.53 HP and 475.93 Torque. Between 3000 & 4000 rpm it's making a lot of torque for a stock (except for the tune) 3 liter TT motor.
I'm please with this tune, and hope everyone has the same results!
Pro Cal done at 5k miles done by dealer.

That dyno graph really shows why the truck picks up a solid 4-5 tenths minimum, sometimes a bit more. It's area under the curve and your gaining 70~80 hp in the mid-range, but it's holding strong all the way across the 4k to 6k RPM band. For those worried about the transmission, think about how the PCM shifts, it doesn't short shift, your torque at 5k RPM is way down compared to at 3,500. So, there's not going to be a huge difference in durability (that and they can torque limit while the torque locks are still slipping during the lockup process).

It think the internet hysteria about the 10R60's capabilities and the Pro Cal is full of actual false information (i.e., it's rated for only 600nm instead of ft-lbs like every other Ford transmission) and lack of context (i.e., locking up with 536 lb-ft input torque applied is different than being locked at 536 lb-ft, aka torque locks are no longer slipping). There's all kinds of things the engine / power train engineers can do to limit torque during lockup phase, then go full bore after lockup to keep things reliable.

Then they forget that you only make peak torque at WOT and when do you go WOT at 3,500 RPM and then short shift at 4,500 so your starting the next taller gear down at 3,500? Even if your cruising along, manually shift it so you're at 3,500, then got WOT and let the PCM continue the shifting, it is shifting at ~6k RPM or just a bit higher, so you're starting the next higher gear at about 5k rpm, meaning you're staying right in the meat of the power band all the time, not the torque band. You're "only" making around 400~450 lb-ft of torque in that RPM range, which is what the transmission sees.

That's one thing I do like about the 10 speeds, those short ratios make the truck's acceleration feel more linear vs. a 4 speed with dual over drive (aka 6 speed), where it's built up (getting close to fun), power band (fun), next gear, bogged down (boring), build up (getting close to fun), power band (fun), bogged down (boring), repeat. It's just on gear after gear in the RR and torque more slowly tapers off, so it's more responsive overall.

Unleashed Tuning loaded up last week via HP Tuner. Torrie has tuned all my Ford turbo vehicles. 2 Focus ST’s, 2.3 Ranger and now the RR. Very happy with it! Although Goosetuned has me interested!

Also warranty. 36k / 3yr warranty with Pro Cal and it does not affect your 60k / 5yr powertrain warranty unless the issue is deemed to be caused by the Pro Cal.

However it would not look good on Ford if their own cal caused an issue that early on and they deny warranty in that range, so pending you dont have any other power adder mods they can blame, its a pretty safe bet out to 60k on warranty with a dealer installed Pro Cal. I dont see the Pro Cal shortening the transmission life to any meaningful degree either even with offroading since your using power in short bursts and speeds are lower than day a drag strip quarter mile run.

But honestly most won't need warranty for major stuff by 60k or even 100k if well maintained, im more worried about my $1200 headlight crapping out or the touch screen dying!

Has anyone heard of problems with someone installing their own Ford Performance tune, versus a dealer or ASE red seal?

It isn't rocket science, and I don't understand how flashing it yourself could lead to a warranty denial say two years later.

No it's not. But at the same time people (in general) are terrible at following directions, So I understand why Ford makes that a condition.

For me it is the timing. If I flash it say today, and then have an issue a year from now, how in the world would negligence on my part have caused that, you know?

Either it flashes correctly, or it doesn't. It is an immediate pass/ fail.

I might just risk it. I really don't want to have a call around dealers and beg them to do it for 1 hour labor.

My dealer didn't charge me. I did almost all the work then they sent a tech out to hit the tune button. They gave me an invoice as well. There has to be a dealer that would do that for you I would think. If they have to do all the legwork of setting up a login and downloading the tune I could see them charging for it.

If someone other than a dealer/mechanic flashes it (not just originally, but at any point afterward) how is Ford supposed to trust that it was done correctly every single time? Would you if the roles were reversed?

If you are going to throw a ton of mods at it anyways, I see little reason to have them do it. If you are going to leave it stock and bought an extended warranty, just let them do it. That is my two cents.

I am lucky, my son-in-law is an ASE certified machinic. So glad that I didn't pay for the installation. After watching what was done.

5-Star shows a tune for the 24-26 2.3l on their site, might be worth reaching out to them. Nullderef, good point about the dealer. Mine had litterally no idea what to do, I just told him to hit a button.
