Outside temperature

I don't think I have ever had a car or truck that had an accurate outside temperature, especially if it's sitting out in the sun..

I think the ambient air temp sensors are meant to be more accurate under vehicle movement than sitting static and taking reflective radiant heat from being parked on pavement or concrete.

Still though, Ford's seem to be the worse about it.

Anyone manage to find a fix through Forscan? Mines reading 28°C and it’s -3°C outside!

Noticed your dash is in MPH. So you're using imperial, and not metric. I don't think we can have "hybrid" its metric, or its imperial. 28°F is -2.2°C

I’m in the UK, definitely displays in °C. I just ended up replacing the sensor in the mirror. It’s a shared part with other fords so was only about £18

I can get mine to do both. I have my air pressure on my tires set to psi and other stuff to metric.

So do I. But anything engine related, I can not change, its stuck in metric, as its tied to the "measurement unit" setting in the general settings on the infotainment. Thats why my boost and engine oil pressure are in BAR, but my tire pressure is PSI.

If I change my dash to miles(speedo stays kmph) My boost and engine oil pressure switch to PSI.

I do see however the infotainment has a sepperate temp setting. and when I changed my "measurement unit" to miles and mpg. my ambient temperature and my speedo stayed in metric.

As others have said, this is common across all Ford models. I think it has to do with whatever device measures the ambient temperature. My wife's car (2025 Nissan Rogue) is also usually off by 3-4 degrees, but corrects to within 1-2 degree once you're out driving around. I think its just cars being cars. It's probably hard to get an accurate outside temp reading when the thermostat is within inches of an engine that's 200+ degrees.

My F150 was always pretty close to the actual temperature. The Ranger has been 7-10 degrees high all summer. Driving doesn’t make it become more accurate. Anyone find a fix?

Replace the sensor, got a brand new one off eBay for about £18, same as an F250 one as it goes
