I bought mine from Tire Rack, they had it at a much lower price than Ford or many other places. I did the whole registration part myself then took it to a dealer to literally just hit a few buttons to start the tuning process. I was at the dealer for maybe 15 minutes and most of that was letting the tune load.
Where in Maine are you? Would love to off road with another RR

i got mine jsut by googling and finding the cheapest online price. then my ford dealer did the install.

i love it and will always do a tune if its available on anything i have from now on. for the cost, the performance and shifting is worth it to me.

my buddy did a goosetune on his f150 raptor and says the same thing. loves it and worth the money so later on in the truck's life, if you want even more, go goosetuned

Just got off the phone with Ford Performance. He basically told me to not waste my time with the firmware updates for the tuner. He said that once the tune is loaded on the vehicle, just unplug it and forget about the tuner.

They do release new FP calibrations. But the amount varies on your MY.
I've updated my 24 at least two times from the initial flash.

True, had a good supervisory contact in Ford Performance since I got the tune for my Lariat and recently with all the questions about updates I reached out to him - no updates exist nor are planned. Procal is tied to the truck/VIN once tune is installed, all that can be done after that is monitor several things and of course is useable like any UBD tool. And remove the tune and restore to stock. Tool monitors, among other things listed in install instructions:

Well...this is concerning. I finally received some OTA updates and was trying to confirm that my FPT has not been overwritten. I plugged in my ProCal tuner into my PC and it immediately detected an update for the software. I went through the install for that, then cycled the tuner. After it powered back on, it detected PID updates, so that updated and required a power cycle. After that finished, below is what my tuner now displays. It's as if it has never been used and is no longer connected to my truck. Maybe that will change after I plug it into my OBDII.

Plugged the tuner into my truck, ran through some screens, but essentially it was telling me that the device was locked. Brought it back to my PC and all my info is back. I attempted to re-flash, but the tuner said, "Not allowed or new vehicle was detected". Maybe I need a new voucher? Strange. As long as the truck is running like it should, I'm just going to assume it's all good.

Which OTA did you get? Only a PCM update would have wiped the tune.

I believe it was a ECM and TCM.
If that's the case, I've always wondered how Ford would handle these things when it happens. Both my vehicles are tuned with Livernois. If the PCM is updated with an OTA update or via FDRS, they will make a new tune for you with the updated strategy at no additional cost. It's happened several times with my F150. It will be interesting to see how Ford will approach this.

You would hope that Ford would add comments for the update to let owners know the update will removed the FP Tune or any tune for that matter.

If you think that Ford has enough foresight to have thought about this in advance, then you have a lot more confidence in them than I do. 😆

What I don't understand is why you can't flash your tune over it. I can do that with my Livernois tuner if I wanted to. It would revert the PCM to the old software, but I would rather that than to lose my tune.

Just finished re-flashing my tune. Truck started and idled fine after, so fingers crossed. I also disabled automatic OTA updates.

That's what I did. You'll still get notified of an update. If you see it's for something other than the PCM, you can let it install on a case by case basis.
