I love the defense of, "You think this is bad. Hold my beer and look how bad the Bronco went."

They try and defend a poor launch by Ford by pointing to other examples of poor launches by Ford. 🤷
I brought that up specifically because he said "it could not be worse". The entire point was, yes it could be much worse.

A 90-day delay is no different than what the Colorado, Canyon and Tacoma are also going through with their redesigns. And that wasn't even a UAW issue, that was 100% GM and Toyota's fault.

GM didn't get EPA estimates in time which delayed deliveries for months and then they delivered trucks with hail damage.

Toyota (and a bunch of people on this forum) claimed there would be tacomas on dealer lots by december. As of today there is no one that has taken delivery of that truck.

crying is free but at least be realistic if you're going to pout and make us all read it.

I don't know about all that but I do know my X plan pin has only a year use-by date and I better get it before it expires in April. Yes I got my pin as an optimist before the order book opened!!

The Bronco and Maverick were brand new vehicles in entirety, and that’s still no excuse for a 2-3 year delay. The Ranger is a copy-paste from the international version using most of the same suppliers, so it is one of the easiest launch types in the industry. The assembly process and tooling could even be copied! Management of Change is a skill set that Ford seems to have lost.

Beyond that, your expectations are incredibly low when referencing only a one year gap between order and delivery. In the end, it doesn’t matter to me that they are wasting millions of dollars in opportunity costs and wasting useless marketing money on a product no one can actually purchase. It does, however, explain why the stock price has not moved in decades.
Tell me more about how you don't know what is involved in new-model overhauls and production plant changes.

Also, what "millions of dollars" are they wasting? And what useless "marketing money" are they wasting? Ford hasn't put out anything by way of marketing other than a few videos and then the promo/launch event that the media was invited to. Other than that, nothing. But they probably have a boat-load of content waiting in the wings.

The Ranger is going sell like hot-cakes, at least for the first couple years. At this point, we're only 3 months behind original planned deliveries which is also 3 months behind the GM twins. That is only 2 months behind the Tacoma. I'll disregard the Frontier since it is always 4th in sales anyway. So what does that mean? In the grand scheme of things, not much.

Benefits? GM is dealing with their OTA's bricking Canyons and Colorados. Sort of important...I'd have rather wait 3 months to remedy that. Also, purely from an R&D perspective, Ford is ahead of the game with the Ranger. While the vehicles aren't 100% identical, I am sure there is massive feedback gained by the vehicle being in the ROW for two years. Remember, the Ranger is an ROW vehicle first, a US vehicle second.

I'll gladly take a 3-4 month delay as I operate under the assumption that many of the tech-related bugs will be addressed.

..i mean it's still miles better than the bronco and maverick launch. i think it could be much worse, considering most of the delay was UAW and not ford.

people waited 2-3 years for their bronco order. if ford delivers trucks in march, that's not even a year after order banks opened.
Ford revealed the Maverick in June and had deliveries in December. 6 months is excellent. If the debate is how long its taken some people to get their Maverick, I think they did good. There is about 3k Ranger orders unscheduled, Maverick and Bronco received over 100k orders each. I don't think anyone could have predicted that amount of orders. It's going to take awhile with that many orders.

This is great news. For months all I have gotten information from Australian reviews or reviews of older model Rangers. Toyota definitely stepped up efforts to get the media involved early.
Yes, we all did this before the 2019 Ranger was available. What we got though was a 10R80 transmission, Australian interior designed in 2012, faulty A/Cs, wallowy suspension, and then only 2/3 of the capabilities worldwide rangers got.

To me them holding the delivery for the test drive/review event makes no sense. My dealer doesn't buy that either. My Ranger also shows as built with no delivery ETA though.
It's possible that deliveries are backed up due to the big snow storm and extra quality checks. That's my hope at least.

Someone had a delivery ETA of this week. I wonder if they have receive it or verification thats it's shipped yet.

I believe you can generate 2 pins per calendar year per household.
If time expires just generate a new one.

My delivery date was supposed to be last week. It was produced as of January 9th. No word from Ford. Based on what I've read elsewhere in the forum, they're waiting on the OKTB, which means it's sitting in a parking lot with a bunch of others just waiting for quality checks. I'm not counting on it anytime soon.

I'm in the boat with you Chuck... produced in January, got a VIN #, shows up in Ford Pass, expected to ship at the end of the month, but a "Sorry we will be late" text from Ford came (Ford Update: Your Ranger is almost built, but is taking longer than estimated. We’ll send an update as soon as we can) , and then I saw pictures of dozens sitting in a fenced in lot in the snow in Wayne at MAP and think mine was one of the white ones I saw :crying:

I'm holding out hope that they ship a bit before the event so they are at least in transit, rather than shipping after the event.

Whatever though, waiting for a build date is 90% of the battle.

I got an eta of 1/25-1/31. Nothing delivered. Spoke to ford chat and they said it was sitting in their holding lot. Dealer is also silent on delivery. I’m not expecting it until March.

Anyone ordering the Ford Maverick as a hybrid waited a lot longer than 6 months. I ordered the 2022 Maverick with the EB because the salesman pretty much said I'd be waiting "a LONG time" otherwise. I ordered mine on November 7th 2021 and received it April 7th, 2022.

Ordered my 2024 Ranger January 12th and expected to go into production March 4th. The worst part of waiting for the Maverick was the shipping.

When I ordered my 2017 Raptor, which was also the first year for the Gen2 Raptor. I ordered mine the day the order banks opened and it was an early build. By the time they gave the OKTB a lot of the early builds were buried at Ramp 59 in Dearborn for 2 months so some of the later builds were getting shipped first.
Hopefully that works in my favor on my Ranger Raptor. I didn't order early this time and mine's scheduled for the week of 3-18-24. By the time mine is built they should already have the OKTB so it shouldn't sit around long before being shipped.

Just noticed a “new vehicle guide” link has popped up on the tracker below the delivery address.
