Got mine installed using these directions. Only lost one retaining clip for the driver side wheel well cover. One of the clips that sits behind the T20 bolts by the fender flare.

Even though I took my time and tried to be as careful as possible, I still tore the white connector off the stock board. I assumed the tabs we wanted to depress were on the skinny sides of the connector. Incorrect. You just have to apply pressure on the wide side of the connector and wiggle it free.

I’ll post a followup pick after a wash, but they look so much better in person than pics can relay.

You are correct. I had the best results by wedging my thumbnail between the male plug and female connector and pulling while sort of twisting my thumb and applying pressure. It’s hard to describe, but the correct place to out pressure on the connector is the wide side where you can see the two tabs.

@MAV - Wanted to give credit where it’s due, I installed mine this weekend using your guide. Super simple with the mini Craftsman bit tool, 100% recommend it. Didn’t even use the flexible bit driver. I did remove the wheel, fender liner and horn/bracket. Total time was around a couple of hours, taking my time. These match the orange DRLs on my KC lightbar (roof rack mounted) and KC ditch lights, perfect. Pics to come. Thank you, MAV!

Any professional shops doing this install at all? I would like to have this done and would love to do it myself but I know I would probably break something etc lol so I’d rather pay someone to do it right. Thanks for sny info

Well I did it, for someone as pathetically inclined mechanically as I am, this install was a stretch, but is doable. It took me quite a while, like 7 hours, I was taking my time, but also would get hung up from time to time on dumb stuff and just had to work through it. How some of you did this in such a short time is impressive.

For some reason the drive side seemed more difficult for me, like there was significantly less room. I think that’s just a perception thing between my right and left side coordination.

Combo I used was to turn the wheel (tire) out, jack up the car, remove the liners, remove the horn, remove the upper fender bolts and spread the fender a little, use one of those flexible multi tools and use a pick on the wire connector tabs to help pull the connector apart on the existing board. I could have removed the wheel, but it really didn’t seem to be on my way that much. I did not use the craftsman tool, I just don’t have that finger strength, have some arthritis starting.

Hats off to the OP, Mav, for his insight as well as some of the YouTube videos. Without these I may have been in the weeds for sure. Not sure if this helps or deters anyone, just figured I’d share the experience.

I would think anybody that does stereo installs could do it. There's nothing complex about it, it's just three screws and an electrical connector per side, it's just very cramped with little work space.
