Got mine today and gave it a go, flexible extension is a must have, that is where everything turned tragic, dropped 2 of the 3 screws trying to put them back in (only found one of them) and pulled a bit too hard on the connector for the original board for the driver side... whoops. They do look amazing though cant wait to get the other side installed.

damn... thats a bummer about the clip but not the end of the world... the good thing is that it is on the module and not the truck wiring harness... it woulnd't be cheap but you could always replace it down the road if you needed to. they sure do look great. FYI, the pax side is WAY more of a pain to access the bolts from the fender but there is a lot more room to work on getting the wiring harness squared away. Nice work and great to hear that it is easier with the extension. maybe grab a magnet and fish it around in the fender to see if you can grab that screw... or just get another small one with course threads for plastic and throw that in there. Cheers

Honestly, it was me not taking my time because I needed a drivable truck in the morning lol. Definitely a weekend project. If you take your time and have the right tools it’s really not too hard.
@Wimbo based on your experience, so-far...regarding "the right tools", what are your recommendations compared to SLs suggested items?

Basically everything mentioned on the install pdf, but especially the magnetic flexible extension. Mine was not magnetic (the reason why I lost 2 screws lol) but it made a huge difference, I also would recommend some long forceps or tweezers, I found some super long forceps lying around after I ripped the connector off and should've started with those, I also used a larger pair of needle nose pliers to hold the heatsink while I was manhandling it trying to get the board off. I'll have a better idea when I do the passenger side tonight.

Hey, how did you end up getting the bottom screw out on the passenger side, seems like no matter where I come from I can’t reach it? Tia!

i went in with just the torx fitting for my ratchet (without the ratchet) and fumbled around with it for about 15 min before i got it lined up with the damn screw and then just wrenched on it with all my pent up frustration until it came loose... it wasn't easy by any means but it worked in the end. Good luck!

It looks like it would work… now I want one haha.
It came in extremely useful for a low-clearance spot where I had to remove a screw to install the Comma 3x (Level 2 ADAS) device in the ranger. That involves removing part of the dash and the entire gauge cluster.

I ended up getting it out and getting everything back in place. She’s done! I took off the engine air filter box lid to get the angle that I needed for the bottom screw and was able to get in with my flexible extension. For anyone doing this in the future here are all the tools I used -

The only thing I would change is having a magnetic extension for the screwdriver. The forceps are great for getting the screws in and out if you don't have a magnetic one. I wouldn't even bother trying to go through the fender liner for the passenger side. 2nd side went much better even though that bottom screw is a massive PITA.

Dude... well done! I am going to buy a set of forceps to keep in my tool box! i didn't even think of that. Great note about taking the air box cover off! i didn't even think of that when i was doing it because it was getting dark and i wasn't thinking straight but i will keep that in my back pocket for when i help out other dudes and dudettes with this mod! Cheers and congrats on the sweet amber running lights!

I got them installed and it was a serious pain to get to some of the screws… wish I had the flexible 1/4” extension. Looks freaking rad! Gonna edit the install video and post tomorrow but here’s a preview!

On a different note. Your reassembly video that just posted was helpful. My bumper and fenders are misaligned. Now that I see how that black flat piece with the 3 threaded bolt holes goes between the 2, I think I’ll make a go of trying to adjust everything. Looked like a frustrating process. I did get a laugh from a couple of your “oh sh@t” comments out of the blue though. Definitely won’t be going that route when my lights show up.
