White material between cab & bed

FYI I was able to remove this white piece with a few tools shown in the picture. There's a part number on the white piece (see pic), but I tried a regular Google search and a Google Lens search and couldn't find anything useful. Maybe someone with a service manual can see if the part number is a standard or shipping piece ;-)

I'm wondering if it's a noise sink (absorb) that goes around the one-way air valve that let's air out of the cab when you shut the door but won't let air in from the outside. "If that's where it's located. Just a thought.

Can you give me the link for your bed hook that's in the picture and if you like that particular one ?

That's exactly why it's there. Acoustic treatment to reduce road/driveline noise.
A lot of people have removed it without realizing what it is intended for.
I kept it in place.

I removed it no changes to noise or cabin air movement closing doors
What did change is no more organic debris is piling up in that location.

This is the one I purchased, but I wouldn't recommend it. I can't seem to tighten it enough to stay in place pulling my heavier box I leave in the back. 6 ft Truck Cargo Retriever
