Just noticed that the windshield sort of floats meaning no surrounding molding beyond the very botton. Can I assume this is normal as I dont have another Ranger to compare with.
Do a search on Ford Motor Company assembly --- and you will see that the windshield frame is spread with Chauk by a robot, and then a robot installs the glass. So, you hope that the first robot does its job correctly.

The urethane adhesive used to install windshields is going to be much more leak tight than any trim/seal. But if you prefer the trimmed-out look, it shouldn't be too hard to find a suitable roll of automotive trim.
Good to know as I was curious about it and just in case it was left off at factory.
My old BMW E39 has a cosmetic seal as well and it being a 1999 has all but dried up and fallen off but it was there.
