All of the for techs I’ve talked too that have lots of experience replacing cam phasers recommend explicitly sticking to motorcraft full synthetic. So that’s what I’ll be using.

All of the race engine builders that I’ve talked to say that Mobil 1 is the worst!

I'm also sticking with Motorcraft full synthetic.

Amazon has a 12 quart pack on sale and more importantly, in stock, at $98.

I used Motorcraft at the first change then SuperTech from Walmart for the two subsequent changes. I really like it and have ran it in everything for many years.

Forgot to mention Motorcraft filter.

I'm leaning towards the Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5W-30 as well given the cost/performance. Have just about 900 miles on my '25 RR now and plan to do the first change before 1500 miles. Just got my UPR catch can delivered as well so great timing to do both at first oil change.

its funny you mention that but supertech actually scored very high in the oil tests on one of the youtube web sites. its actually a very decent oil.

Motorcraft full synthetic for me with factory filter. First change was at 1.8k. About 5k on this change, plan to go 7k and do a UOA to adjust from there.

Also fully treated the entire powertrain with DLC films at 5k.

Back to the oil, I've found that MC FS does well on UOAs in Fords compared to a lot of other oils and it's their own oil....so it's well tested for its application and the particular needs of the Ecoboost engines.

Also MC synthetic 5w30 has been GF-6 certified for some time now. Not all the aftermarket oils are, so it's one less thing to worry about.

Buy it from RockAuto for a bit over $5 a quart. Dealer is a rip off and charges 3x that.
