So the trailer (2783lbs) plus 2017 Escape awd (3868lbs) is a total loaded weight of 6651lbs. That's well within the 7500 max but it's not nothing. Very similar setup to the tests that TFL Truck did with the Ranger in their tow testing. No wind frontage either, which explains the decent mpg.

It’s looks like the tow vehicle is a “regular Ranger”, correct? If so, thats well within the towing range for it.
i wonder how a Ranger Raptor would with its measly 5000lb towing limit?

You guys are correct. I stopped and looked at the sticker on the trailer. 2700 lbs

On that trailer the GVWR is 14,000 meaning the total weight of the trailer and load cannot exceed 14,000 lbs. The GAWR (gross axle weight rating) is 7,000 lbs per axle and there are 2 axles. So that is a pretty decent car hauler.

Yep, a standard STX/XL with an aftermarket brake controller. This actually stopped better than my camper does behind the Ranger. It was definitely sagging in the rear. I would assume that the leaf springs give the regular ranger its higher towing capacity. The Raptor has coils, correct?

I would love to know what the tongue weight was. She was sagging a little heavy in the rear.

I've towed plenty right at an estimated weight of between 4900 to 5300. Does 75 all day just fine. Will struggle without bags with tounge over 10% though.

Well, when we arrived and loaded the car, I noticed that the weight of said trailer was close to 7000lbs. 🤦‍♂️
Trailer weighs maybe 2500 lbs.
No weigh (hyuk!) 7000 lbs.
My '85 F-250 weighs 7000 lbs.
