What company sold that warranty? If they are licensed in Florida they can... but places like Granger are not.

Maybe someone has some insight. My wife has a Chevy Trailblazer. I was referred to a dealer in the NE and they had no issue selling me a Chevrolet warranty in Florida. How come there is an issue with purchasing a Ford warranty from out of state?
Go to a Chevy Dealer in FL and check if they'll honor the warranty you purchased in the NE. If they do, then the only explanation is they are licensed to do so in FL.

I have owned 17 new vehicles in my life. I have never purchased or needed an extended warranty. The way I look at it, I am at least $25,000 ahead of the game if something went wrong. People seem to forget two things: You already have an "extended" powertrain warranty. And people also forget to deduct what they "prepaid" for the extended warranty when they need repairs. No, the extended warranty didn't pay $2,500 to repair (insert repair here.) They paid $500 because you already prepaid two grand. That being said, if you are a person who takes comfort in knowing you have an extended warranty, then by all means get one.

If one LED projector headlight goes out on you, you will be thanking yourself for getting the extended warranty.
But, only if you have added the "Interior/Exterior Lighting" package to the Ford Protect warranty, otherwise your screwed.

I disagree on some of the points you tried to make:
1. You are NOT $25,000 ahead of the game, the game resets with each new vehicle purchase.

2. A manufacturers powertrain warranty ends at 36 months or 36,000 miles, some owners will burn through that in a year or less (especially in states like TX).

3. NO ONE EVER forgets that they paid for an extended warranty, and it's the first thing a dealership checks when doing a repair (they don't ask you, they can see it in your vehicle profile). Warranty repairs are cash cows for dealerships, much easier for them to file a claim with Ford, than have to deal with an angry customer over how much a non-warranty repair is going to cost.

4. Your comment "They paid $500 because you already prepaid two grand" really isn't correct. The highest deductible is $200, not $500. The options are $0, $50, $100, or $200. You can do between 5 and 10 years, and mileage ranges from 60K to 175K.

With all that said, take a moment to consider the sheer volume of complexity in our trucks. None of this is cheap to replace (electronic components are NEVER repaired, they either go back to the manufacturer for inspection/failure review, or their trashed). If your still reading, take a look at the somewhat long list below, all of which are potential failure points.

Beyond the Engine Control Unit (ECU) and Transmission Control Unit (TCU), modern vehicles rely on a highly interconnected network of up to 70 to 100 dedicated Electronic Control Units (ECUs) to manage everything from safety to cabin comfort.

These individual computers communicate in real-time through the vehicle's Central Gateway and localized data networks like the CAN bus. The most critical major control modules are categorized below:

Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) / Brake Control Unit: Prevents individual wheels from locking up during hard braking to maintain steering control.

Electronic Stability Control (ESC): Actively counters skids by selectively applying individual brakes to keep the car on its intended path.

Supplemental Restraint System (SRS): Deploys airbags and tightens seatbelt pretensioners instantly during a detected crash.

Electronic Power Steering (EPS): Uses an electric motor to automatically adjust steering resistance based on vehicle speed.

Body Control Module (BCM): The primary gatekeeper for the car's general electronics, overseeing power windows, door locks, mirrors, and wipers.

Climate Control Unit (CCU / HVAC): Operates the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems based on cabin temperature sensors.

Suspension Control Module (SCM): Constantly recalibrates the electronic dampers/shocks at each wheel to optimize ride smoothness

ADAS Domain Controller: The central hub for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, fusing data from radar, cameras, and LiDAR to control adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping.

Telematics Control Unit (TCU): Handles external communications, including GPS navigation, embedded cellular data, over-the-air software updates, and emergency eCall alerts.

Infotainment Head Unit: Powers the central dashboard screens, radio, smartphone integration, and overall user settings

Off-Road & Suspension Performance Modules
FOX Live Valve Suspension Control Module (SCM): The standout computer unique to the Raptor line. It reads data from body sensors and suspension height indicators 500 times per second to instantly adjust the electronic dampening inside the 2.5-inch FOX internal bypass shocks.

Transfer Case Control Module (TCCM): The "brain" managing the truck's advanced, on-demand 4x4 system. It commands the shift-on-the-fly electric motors to seamlessly transition between 2H, 4H, 4L, and 4A (Automatic 4WD).

Electronic Locking Differential Module: Operates the electric-actuator locking front and rear axles, locking them simultaneously in low-traction environments like Rock Crawl or Baja mode

Active Exhaust Control Module: Controls the electronic valves inside the dual-outlet active exhaust system, giving the driver physical controls to toggle between Quiet, Normal, Sport, and Baja sound modes.

Core Network & Driver Assistance Controls
Serial Data Gateway Module (GWM): The central translator and master gatekeeper for the truck's network. It links the individual high-speed CAN networks together and handles over-the-air (OTA) updates and FordPass connectivity.

Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) Control Module: This co-pilot domain controller fuses data from the 360-degree cameras, parking sensors, blind-spot radars, and forward-facing sensors to drive features like adaptive cruise control, Lane Keeping, and Trail Control.

Anti-Lock Brake Control Module (ABS): On the Raptor, this module does more than stop lockups. It actively changes its slip tolerances based on your chosen Terrain Management System mode, allowing aggressive wheel-slip in deep sand or mud to keep the truck moving.

Driver Input & Cabin Management
Terrain Management / Drive Mode Controller:
Interprets inputs from the physical center console rotary dial. When switched through the seven drive modes, it sends a synchronized broadcast command instructing the ECU, TCU, ABS, and SCM to completely change the truck's personality.

Upfitter Interface Module (UIM): Translates physical commands from the roof-mounted auxiliary toggle switches into fused electrical outputs, allowing you to safely wire aftermarket off-road lighting, winches, or air compressors without tapping directly into sensitive vehicle logic lines

Now, if you are a person who takes comfort in knowing you don't have an extended warranty, then when you have a hefty out of pocket repair, please come back to this thread and tell us how sore your wallet is.
