Best $50 I ever spent buying that bypass. I still catch myself raising my arm to shut the 1 off I had on my Expedition. Couple more years and I will be retrained. My daughter and her small hand put it in within 5 minutes.

Annoying start/stop on your truck vs functioning democracy and rule of law....it's a tricky balance.
We have a functioning Constitutional Republic. And we’ve finally gotten back to the rule of law

As a whole, I definitely support start/stop systems. It makes sense from an emissions perspective. Where it doesn't make sense is on vehicles with 12v starters that aren't made it.

* Start/stop on my Subaru Forester? Complete jarring experience upon start, and HVAC stopping.
* On my Volvo? Fucking seamless. The powertrain is ready to go in milliseconds.

Ranger falls somewhere in between. It's a nuisance because it lacks a 48v starter and mild hybrid system. If it did, I wouldn't look at options to defeat it.

/\ thats true. if the system is properly set up and a hybrid style, it works great. but most manufacturers were just trying to get those credits while using what they already had on hand so its not set up for smooth and efficient start stop.

but i still turned it off

Fair point, except for the rule of law part. But have fun with your alternative facts.
